Abstract
【解決手段】本発明による面光源100は、所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LED110を含み、上記複数の白色LED110は各白色LED110とそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LED110との組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LED110から出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列される。本発明は上記の白色LED110を利用した面光源100を有するLCDバックライトユニットを提供する。

Description
先ず、図3及び図4を参考して本発明の実施例による白色LEDを利用した面光源について詳細に説明する。
上述のような面光源は、LCDでLCDパネルの後面の光を照射するLCDバックライトユニットに採用することができる。
上述の白色LED配列は、分割駆動のLCDバックライトユニットにも適用されることができる。

Claims (16)
- 所定の間隔で離隔されて配列された複数の白色LEDを備え、
前記複数の白色LEDは各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列されたことを特徴とする白色LEDを利用した面光源。 - 前記白色LEDは、青色LEDチップと、前記青色LEDチップの周囲に配置され、前記青色LEDチップにより励起され赤色光を発する赤色蛍光体と、前記青色LEDチップの周囲に配置され前記青色LEDチップにより励起され緑色光を発する緑色蛍光体を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LEDを備え、
前記複数の白色LEDは、各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列され、
前記白色LEDは、周波長(dominant wavelength)が430〜456nmである青色LEDチップと、赤色光を発する赤色蛍光体と、緑色光を発する緑色蛍光体を含むことを特徴とする白色LEDを利用した面光源。 - 所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LEDを備え、
前記複数の白色LEDは、各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列され、
前記白色LEDは、周波長(dominant wavelength)が430〜456nmである青色LEDチップと、前記青色LEDチップの周囲に配置され、赤色光を発する赤色蛍光体と、緑色光を発する緑色蛍光体を含み、
前記赤色蛍光体が発する赤色光の色座標は、CIE1931色座標系を基準に4つの頂点(0.6448、0.4544)、(0.8079、0.2920)、(0.6427、0.2905)及び(0.4794、0.4633)により囲まれた領域内にあり、
前記緑色蛍光体が発する緑色光の色座標は、CIE1931色座標系を基準に4つの頂点(0.1270、0.8037)、(0.4117、0.5861)、(0.4197、0.5316)及び(0.2555、0.5030)により囲まれた領域内にあることを特徴とする白色LEDを利用した面光源。 - 所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LEDを備え、
前記複数の白色LEDは、各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列され、
前記白色LEDは青色LEDチップと赤色蛍光体及び緑色蛍光体を含み、
前記青色チップの発光スペクトラムの半値幅(FWHM)は10〜30nmで、緑色蛍光体の半値幅は30〜100nmで、赤色蛍光体の半値幅は50〜200nmであることを特徴とする白色LEDを利用した面光源。 - 所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LEDを備え、
前記複数の白色LEDは、各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように配列され、
前記白色LEDは周波長(dominant wavelength)が250〜420nmである紫外光(UV)のLEDチップと、前記紫外光のLEDチップの周囲に配置され赤色光を発する赤色蛍光体と、緑色光を発する緑色蛍光体と、青色光を発する青色蛍光体を含むことを特徴とする白色LEDを利用した面光源。 - 前記白色LEDの配列は、前記白色LEDの間に行ラインの間隔及び列ラインの間隔は8.2〜70mm範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一つに記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 前記白色LEDの配列の調節は、前記白色LEDの間の行間隔、列間隔及び配置角度のうち、少なくとも一つを調節することにより行われることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一つに記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 前記LEDユニットは多角形、円形及びこれらの組み合わせにより構成された群から選ばれる一つの形状を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一つに記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 前記赤色蛍光体は、窒化物(nitride)系組成のCaAlSiN3:Euまたは硫化物(sulfide)系組成の(Ca、Sr)S:Euであることを特徴とする請求項2〜6のいずれか一つに記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 前記緑色蛍光体は、ケイ酸塩(silicate)系組成の(Bax、Sry、Mgz)SiO4:Eu2+、F、Cl(0<x、y≦2、0≦z≦2、0ppm≦F、Cl≦5000000ppm)、硫化物(sulfide)系組成のSrGa2S4:Eu及び窒化物(nitride)系組成のβ−SiAlONから構成されたグループから選ばれた一つであることを特徴とする請求項2〜6のいずれか一つに記載の白色LEDを利用した面光源。
- 基板と、
前記基板上に配置された反射板と、
前記反射板上に配置され、所定の間隔で離隔され配列された複数の白色LEDと、
各白色LEDとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように前記白色LEDが配列された面光源と、
前記面光源上に具備され、前記面光源から入射された光を均一に拡散させる拡散シートと、
前記拡散シート上に具備され、前記拡散シートから拡散された光を集光する集光シートと、
を備えることを特徴とするLCDバックライトユニット。 - 前記集光シート上に具備された保護シートをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項12に記載のLCDバックライトユニット。
- それぞれ少なくとも一つの第1及び第2コネクタが形成された配線基板と前記配線基板上に実装されてm個の列とn個の行のマトリックスに配列されたm×n個の白色LEDチップ(m及びnはそれぞれ2以上の正の整数)を有する複数のLEDモジュールを備え、
前記m×n個のLED光源は、複数のブロック単位に分かれ、前記複数のブロックは前記白色LEDチップが前記ブロック単位で独立的に駆動されることができるように前記第1及び第2コネクタに連結され、
前記m×n個の白色LEDは所定の間隔で離隔させて配列され、
各白色LEDチップとそこから最短距離に配置された任意の白色LEDチップとの組み合わせからなるLEDユニットの中心光量が、各白色LEDチップから出る光量の総計を平均した値の80%〜120%になるように、前記白色LEDチップを配列することを特徴とするLCDバックライトユニット。 - 前記複数のブロックは、前記第1コネクタに共通的に連結され、前記第2コネクタは前記各モジュールのブロック数と同じ数で、前記複数のブロックは前記複数の第2コネクタにそれぞれ連結されたことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のLCDバックライトユニット。
- 前記LEDモジュールは2〜28個であり、前記各モジュール当り1〜28のブロックから構成され、前記各ブロックには2〜240個の白色LEDが配列されたことを特徴とする請求項14に記載のLCDバックライトユニット。
