Abstract
【解決手段】液晶層を狭持する一対の基板のうちの一方の基板3上に、共通電極15と画素電極19とが絶縁状態で配置された表示装置1aにおいて、画素電極19は、平行に配列された複数の電極部19aを備え、各電極部19aが延設方向の略中央部で屈曲する平面形状を有すると共に、当該屈曲部分において各電極部19aを接続するブリッジ部19bを備えている。

Description
図1は第1実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、図2は図1におけるA−A’断面に対応する断面図である。尚、平面模式図においては、絶縁膜や配向膜等の図示を省略している。
図3は第2実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図であり、要部A1,A2,A3の拡大図を合わせて示した。ただし、第2実施形態の特徴部を説明するために、共通電極の図示を省略している。
図4は第3実施形態の表示装置の構成を説明する3画素分の駆動基板側の平面模式図である。ただし、第3実施形態の特徴部を説明するために、共通電極の図示を省略している。
以上説明した本発明に係る表示装置は、図6〜図10に示す様々な電子機器、例えば、デジタルカメラ、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯電話等の携帯端末装置、ビデオカメラなど、電子機器に入力された映像信号、若しくは、電子機器内で生成した映像信号を、画像若しくは映像として表示するあらゆる分野の電子機器の表示装置に適用することが可能である。以下に、本発明が適用される電子機器の一例について説明する。
Claims (7)
- 液晶層を狭持する一対の基板のうちの一方に共通電極と画素電極とが絶縁状態で配置された表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、平行に配列された複数の電極部を備え、当該各電極部が延設方向の略中央部で屈曲する平面形状を有すると共に、当該屈曲部分において前記各電極部を接続するブリッジ部を備えている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の表示装置において、
前記電極部と前記ブリッジ部とは、略垂直を成して接続されている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記各電極部の端部を接続するブリッジ部を備え、
前記電極部と前記ブリッジ部とは、略垂直を成して接続されている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項3記載の表示装置において、
前記電極部とブリッジ部とで囲まれた空間部分は、略矩形の平面形状で構成されている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の表示装置において、
前記ブリッジ部に重ねて遮光パターンが設けられている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記共通電極の前記液晶層側に絶縁膜を介して積層されている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の表示装置において、
前記画素電極が配列形成された表示領域に、センサー部が設けられている
ことを特徴とする表示装置。
