Description
図1は、第1実施形態の液晶表示装置の1画素分の要部概略断面図である。また図2は第1実施形態の液晶表示装置の2画素分の要部概略平面図であり、この平面図におけるA−A’断面が図1に相当する。
図4は第2実施形態の液晶表示装置の2画素分の要部概略平面図である。
図5は、第3実施形態の液晶表示装置の1画素分の要部概略断面図である。また図6は第3実施形態の液晶表示装置の2画素分の要部概略平面図であり、この平面図における櫛歯電極に沿った断面が図5に相当する。
図8には、本発明が適用されるアクティブマトリックス駆動の液晶表示装置の回路構成を示す図である。尚、上述した実施形態と同一の構成要素には同一の符号を付して説明を行う。
以上説明した本発明に係る表示装置は、図9〜図13に示す様々な電子機器、例えば、デジタルカメラ、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯電話等の携帯端末装置、ビデオカメラなど、電子機器に入力された映像信号、若しくは、電子機器内で生成した映像信号を、画像若しくは映像として表示するあらゆる分野の電子機器の表示装置に適用することが可能である。以下に、本発明が適用される電子機器の一例について説明する。
Claims (8)
- 一の方向に延伸する複数の櫛歯電極を両端部で連結して形成された櫛歯状の画素電極を備えると共に、画素毎に反射表示部と透過表示部とが設けられた液晶表示装置において、
前記画素電極は、前記透過表示部における前記一の方向に垂直な他の方向の幅よりも前記反射表示部における前記他の方向の幅が大きく形成され、前記他の方向の幅が小さい部分の前記櫛歯電極が前記反射表示部と前記透過表示部との境界部を前記他の方向に連結されない状態で跨ぐように配置されている
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記他の方向に沿って隣接して配置された一の前記画素電極と他の前記画素電極とについて、前記透過表示部における前記一の画素電極と前記他の画素電極との間隔よりも、前記反射表示部における前記一の画素電極と前記他の画素電極との間隔の方が狭い
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1又は2記載の液晶表示装置において、
一の前記画素電極について、前記透過表示部に配置される前記櫛歯電極の本数よりも前記反射表示部に配置される前記櫛歯電極の本数が多い
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記各櫛歯電極は、直線で構成されている
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項2記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記反射表示部には前記画素電極に重ねて反射層が設けられ、
前記反射表示部が隣接して配置される複数の画素間では前記反射層が共通層として設けられている
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記櫛歯電極は延設方向の略中央で2方向に屈曲している
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記反射表示部には位相差層がパターン形成され、当該位相差層によって前記反射表示部と前記透過表示部の液晶層の層厚が調整されている
液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1記載の液晶表示装置において、
前記反射表示部と前記透過表示部とで液晶分子の配向状態が異なる
液晶表示装置。
