Abstract
【解決手段】スプール10に巻かれているウェブWを、その下流にあるローラ12等を介して経路(プロセス方向P)沿いに印刷部20に送り、印刷部20内のプリントヘッド21A〜21D(1個でもよい)を用いそのウェブW上に相変化インクを被着させる。スプール10と印刷部20の間にはウェブWを所定の予熱温度まで予熱する予熱器18があり、印刷部20内にはウェブWの温度を所定のインク受入温度域内で保つ手段例えば裏打ち材24A〜24Dがある。印刷部20内におけるウェブWの温度を、プリントヘッド21A〜21Dによる各色インク順次被着を好適に行えるように、制御することができる。

Claims (4)
- 経路沿いに媒体を送る手段と、その媒体の温度を所定の予熱温度にする予熱器と、上記経路に沿って予熱器より下流に配置された印刷部と、を備え、
上記印刷部が、上記媒体に相変化インクを被着させる1個又は複数個のプリントヘッドと、その媒体の温度を所定のインク受入温度域内で保つ手段と、を有する印刷装置。 - 請求項1記載の印刷装置であって、上記予熱温度が約30〜70℃の範囲内である印刷装置。
- 請求項1記載の印刷装置であって、上記印刷部が、上記プリントヘッドとは逆側から上記媒体に面する裏打ち材を有し、その媒体の温度が上記インク受入温度域より低くなることをその裏打ち材によって防ぐ印刷装置。
- 請求項3記載の印刷装置であって、上記インク受入温度域が約40〜60℃の範囲であり、上記相変化インクを約100〜140℃の温度にして上記媒体に被着させる印刷装置。
