Abstract
Description
銅を含有する材料は触媒及び吸着剤として工業界で広く使用されている。水蒸気の存在下で一酸化炭素を反応させて二酸化炭素及び水素を製造する水性シフト反応(water shift reaction)、並びにメタノールと高級アルコールの合成は、現在最も実施されている触媒プロセスの1つである。いずれのプロセスも酸化銅系の混合酸化物触媒を使用している。
比較的低温で還元され得るCuOを支持体上で使用することは、金属銅の高度な分散性を維持することが重要なある種の用途に有用であると考えられる。米国特許第4,863,894号によると、共沈した銅−亜鉛−アルミニウム塩基性炭酸塩を、混合酸化物を製造するための200℃を超える温度までの予備加熱なしに、分子状水素で還元する際に、高度に分散した金属銅粒子が生成する。
従って、耐還元性のあるCuO吸着剤は、合成ガスからH2Sを完全に除去して、燃料電池(PEFC)用途として十分なH2生成物の純度を保証する場合により適するであろう。
本発明は、塩化ナトリウム等の無機ハロゲン化物の少量を塩基性炭酸銅に添加し、次いで該炭酸塩の分解に十分な280℃から500℃の温度範囲において、十分な時間焼成することにより、CuO及び担持したCuO材料の耐還元性を向上させる方法を提供する。これらの耐還元性吸着剤は、ガス及び液体流から硫黄及び他の不純物を除去する際に有意な利点を示す。
CuCO3・Cu(OH)2等の塩基性炭酸銅は、Cu(NO)3、CuSO4及びCuCl2等の銅塩を炭酸ナトリウムと共に沈殿させることにより製造することができる。使用される条件、及び特に結果として得られる沈殿物の洗浄によるが、最終的な材料は沈殿プロセスからのある種の残留生成物を含有する場合がある。CuCl2原材料の場合には、塩化ナトリウムが沈殿プロセスの副生物となる。残留する塩素及びナトリウムの両方を含む市販の塩基性炭酸銅は、ほとんど塩素を含まない別の市販BCCよりも、低い耐熱性及び改善された耐還元性を示すことが確認された。
Claims (10)
- 無機ハロゲン化物を塩基性炭酸銅と組み合わせて混合物を製造し、次いで該混合物を、該塩基性炭酸銅を分解させるのに十分な時間焼成し、酸化銅吸着剤を製造することを含む酸化銅吸着剤の製造方法。
- 前記無機ハロゲン化物が、塩化ナトリウム、塩化カリウム又はこれらの混合物を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 塩化物の含有量が0.05〜2.5質量%である、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 塩基性炭酸銅が、合成したCuCO3Cu(OH)2である、請求項1、2又は3に記載の方法。
- 前記酸化銅吸着剤が、該酸化銅吸着剤とガス又は液体流を接触して、ヒ素、リン及び硫黄化合物から成る群から選択される少なくとも1種の不純物を該ガス又は液体流から除去するために使用される、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記ガス又は液体流が、少なくとも1種のオレフィンを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 請求項1、2、3、4又は5に記載の方法により製造される酸化銅吸着剤。
- 酸化銅と少なくとも1種のハロゲン塩との混合物を含む吸着剤。
- 支持体物質を更に含む、請求項8に記載の吸着剤。
- 前記支持体物質がアルミナである、請求項9に記載の吸着剤。
