Abstract

Description
本発明は、焼結コーティング剤、特に、少なくとも1つの非球形金属粒子の層が球形金属粒子の層上に配置された、人工骨用の焼結コーティング剤に関する。
分節人工骨インプラントに対して、(1)インプラントは、機能を失うことなく、かつ、いかなる副作用も起こすことなく、患者の生涯にわたり持続すること、(2)インプラントは、植込まれる骨の正常な機能を回復させること、および、(3)インプラントは、商業規模で生産可能であることを含めて、設計基準が多数あり、長年追求されてきた。前述の基準を満たすには、インプラントが、しばしば変動しながら加えられる負荷を支えるだけでなく、インプラントと骨の間の接触面が、負荷要求に耐えることも必要である。
本発明のある態様は、少なくとも2層の金属粒子層を持つ外面を有するインプラントおよび他の物品に関する。好ましい実施形態では、前述の物品は、最外層、および最外層と物品外面との間に位置する中間層を有する。最外層は、約50〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する非球形金属粒子から基本的に成る。中間層は、約50〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る。
基板を提供する段階と、
基板上に約50〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する球形金属粒子層1層以上を配置する段階と、
少なくとも1層以上の球形金属粒子層の上に少なくとも1層の50〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する非球形金属粒子層を配置する段階と、
基板上の粒子を冶金で焼結する段階と、
を含む。
本発明では、基板上に焼結金属コーティング剤が配置される。特に、コーティング剤は、基板の少なくとも1つの表面に塗布される対称粒子の第1部分、および非対称粒子から形成され、コーティング剤の第1部分に塗布されるコーティング剤の第2部分を含む。粒子層は、冶金によって、互いに、固体基板上に焼結される。
実施例1〜4は、−120+200メッシュすなわち75〜125μmの非球形粒子の下に、−60+80メッシュすなわち175〜250μmの球形粒子を使って実施された。非球形粒子の形態が、図2に示される。
実施例5〜10は、−60+80メッシュ球形粒子、ならびに、−50+60メッシュ、−60+80メッシュ、−70+80および/または−80+100メッシュ非球形粒子を使って実施された。粉末は、初期粉末と同様の形態を示し、サイズが大きめであるにすぎなかった。サンプルは、後からの分析を容易にするために、1つの平坦な表面上でコーティングされた。サンプルは、コーティング剤を、下表に示されているものを左から右の順で塗布することによりコーティングされた。多孔質コーティングおよび焼結サンプルは、形態評価用に、慎重にコーティング剤および基板に垂直に切断され、標本化され、冶金処理された。選択された横断面の顕微鏡写真は、図5に示される。サンプルは、体積空隙率および全厚について評価された。
実施例11〜30は、−60+80メッシュ球形粒子を使って、また、非球形粒子の−50+80メッシュ内で粒度分布を変えながら実施された。粉末は、初期粉末と同様の形態を示した。サンプルは、後からの分析を容易にするために、1つの平坦な表面上でコーティングされた。サンプルは、下表に示されているとおりにコーティングされ、球形粒子は、金属基板に塗布され、非球形粒子は、球形粒子の最上部に塗布された。多孔質コーティングおよび焼結サンプルは、形態評価用に、慎重に、コーティング剤および基板に垂直に切断され、標本化され、冶金処理された。代表的横断面の顕微鏡写真は、図6に示される。サンプルは、体積空隙率、全厚、および平均孔切片長さについて評価された。
(1) 少なくとも2層の金属粒子層を持つ外面を有する人工骨において、
・前記少なくとも2層のうちの1層が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に非球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る最外層であり、
・前記少なくとも2層のうちの少なくとも1層が、前記最外層と前記外面との間に位置し、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る中間層である、
人工骨。
(2) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有する、
人工骨。
(3) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記非球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有する、
人工骨。
(4) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記非球形金属粒子が、コバルト、クロム、モリブデン、タンタル、およびチタンの1種類以上を含む、
人工骨。
(5) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記球形金属粒子が、コバルト、クロム、モリブデン、タンタル、およびチタンの1種類以上を含む、
人工骨。
(6) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記面、前記球形金属粒子、および前記非球形金属粒子が、チタンを含む、
人工骨。
(7) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記面、前記球形金属粒子、および前記非球形金属粒子が、コバルトおよびクロムを含む、
人工骨。
(8) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記面、前記球形金属粒子、および前記非球形金属粒子が、タンタルを含む、
人工骨。
(9) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記球形金属粒子の層および前記非球形金属粒子の層が、合わせて100ミクロン〜2.5 mmの厚さを有する、
人工骨。
(10) 実施態様1に記載の人工骨において、
前記外面が、約20%〜約80%の体積空隙率を有する、
人工骨。
・前記少なくとも2層が、最外層および中間層を有し、
・前記最外層が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する非球形の金属粒子から基本的に成り、
・前記中間層が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る、

(12) 実施態様11に記載の物品において、
前記球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有し、
前記非球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有する、

(13) 実施態様11に記載の物品において、
前記非球形金属粒子および前記球形金属粒子が、それぞれ、コバルト、クロム、モリブデン、タンタル、およびチタンの1種類以上を含む、

(14) 実施態様11に記載の物品において、
前記基板、前記球形金属粒子、および前記非球形金属粒子が、チタンを含む、

・基板を提供する段階と、
・前記基板上に、1種類以上の実質的に球形の金属粒子コーティング剤を塗布する段階であって、前記球形金属粒子が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する段階と、
・前記球形金属粒子上に1種類以上の追加コーティング剤を塗布する段階であって、前記追加コーティング剤が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する非球形金属粒子を含む段階と、
・前記基板上に前記粒子を冶金で焼結する段階と、
を含む、方法。
(20) 実施態様19に記載の方法において、
前記球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有し、
前記非球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有する、
方法。
前記非球形金属粒子および前記球形金属粒子が、それぞれ、コバルト、クロム、モリブデン、タンタル、およびチタンの1種類以上を含む、

- 少なくとも2層の金属粒子層を持つ外面を有する人工骨において、
・前記少なくとも2層のうちの1層が、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に非球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る最外層であり、
・前記少なくとも2層のうちの少なくとも1層が、前記最外層と前記外面との間に位置し、50ミクロン〜500ミクロンの平均粒度を有する実質的に球形の金属粒子から基本的に成る中間層である、
人工骨。 - 請求項1に記載の人工骨において、
前記球形金属粒子が、150ミクロン〜300ミクロンの平均粒度を有する、
人工骨。 - 請求項1に記載の人工骨において、
