Description

The present invention relates to a method for cultivating a sweet potato "Suiou" using foliage, a cultivation container containing culture soil, and a "Suiou" seedling with a cultivation container.

Sweet potato foliage was rarely used in Japan, except in some areas where the stems were eaten. However, in recent years, an elegant summer has been developed as a variety for petiole, and a sweet potato variety "Suio" using stems and leaves has been developed by the National Agriculture Research Institute of Kyushu Okinawa Agricultural Research Center. The protein, dietary fiber, minerals and vitamin content of the leaf blades are said to be equal to or higher than spinach (see Table 1).

In addition, the stems and leaves of “Suiou” can be repeatedly harvested, so that there is little decrease in yield due to repeated harvesting, and there is a feature that can be used as summer leaf vegetables (fried oil, soaked etc.) with little vegetable production.

By the way, potato seedlings are generally cut into seedlings from stems sprouted from seeds, but these seedlings must be planted as freshly as possible after they have been cut. The seedlings were not stored for a long time or widely transported.

Bora soil is a pumice fall deposit distributed in the Osumi area of Kagoshima Prefecture and the southern area of Miyazaki Prefecture, and has been used as horticultural soil.
Also, the solid planting material obtained from coconut dust is the accumulation and fermentation of the coconut dust that remains after removing the fibers to make mats and ropes from the fibrous layer that forms the hard shell of coconut fruit. It is made into a thing and is marketed as a brand name Cocopyt (trademark), and is widely used as a soil improvement agent (refer patent document 1, 2, 3).

Since “Suiou” contains a large amount of nutrients in the foliage, it is desirable to devour fresh foliage as much as possible. To that end, not only mass production in the field, but also easy cultivation in each household, it is considered that it can contribute to the spread of "Suiou". To that end, it is an object of the present invention to cultivate "Suiou" seedlings in pots that can be stored for a long period of time, so that these pot seedlings can be supplied widely and generally. Thus, the present invention has been completed as a result of earnest research on the culture soil suitable for this pot seedling.

When cultivating "Suoi" in a pot, it is also an object of the present invention to grow stems and leaves without enlarging tuberous roots and to re-emergence after cutting the stems and leaves to promote the growth of the leaves and leaves.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, a pot is filled with a culture soil made of a mixture of a solid soil and a solid planting material obtained from coconut dust, and a seedling of a stalk-and-leaves sweet potato "Suio" is planted in the culture soil. It is a cultivation method of a stalk-and-leaves sweet potato "Suio" characterized by

The pot to be used is not limited to materials such as plastic or paper. Or a bowl, a planter, etc. can be used. At the bottom of the pot, put about 2 mm of pot bottom soil, put culture soil made of solid planting material (trade name coco peat) obtained from rust and coconut dust, and plant "Suio" seedlings in the culture soil. Give water. Leave it in the sun for about a week, and grow it in a sunny place. Give plenty of water when the surface soil is dry. In this way, “Suoi” pot seedlings can be stored for several months.

The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that the culture soil is 75 to 65% by volume of dredged soil, and 25 to 35% by volume of a solid planting material obtained from coconut dust. It is a cultivation method of "Suio".
Borat soil is rich in water permeability, water retention, and air permeability, and the solid planting material obtained from coconut dust (trade name coco peat) has excellent water absorption and fertilization properties. It was found to be suitable for the survival and growth of "Ou" seedlings.
In Patent Document 2, a seedling culture soil in which 35 to 55% by volume of dredged soil is blended is applied, but in the present invention, the blended amount of dredged soil is 75 to 65% by volume. The reason why the blending amount is set to 65% by volume or more is to prevent the tuberous root from being enlarged at the root of “Suiou”, and the blending amount is set to 75% by volume or less for the fertilizer content when there is too much soil. This is because seedlings are difficult to settle due to a lack of the amount.
