水溶性無機塩(A成分)は、金属材との密着性に優れた潤滑皮膜を得るための造膜剤(皮膜形成剤)として有用な成分である。本発明の潤滑剤は、造膜剤としてアルカリ土類金属塩(C成分)を含有しており、上記のA成分は、C成分との関係で言えば、造膜補助剤として位置づけられる。A成分は、金属材の塑性加工時の変形に追随しやすいため、A成分の添加により、塑性加工用工具と金属材との間の焼き付きが抑制され、キャリア性及び潤滑性が高められる。
有機金属塩(B成分)は、潤滑剤として有用な成分であり、これにより、潤滑性が高められる。
アルカリ土類金属塩(C成分)は、造膜剤および分散剤として有用な成分である。C成分の添加により、皮膜の造膜性が高められるだけでなく、潤滑性や耐焼き付き性も向上するが、これは、金型やダイスなどの加工工具と金属材(被加工材料)との接触部(金属間接触)が約150〜400℃程度に上昇してもC成分は溶解せず、加工工具と金属材との接触を防止する役割を有するためと考えられる。
D成分は、本発明を特徴付ける成分であり、分散剤、造膜剤、濡れ向上剤などとして有用である。
界面活性剤は、潤滑皮膜の作成過程で、必要に応じて添加される成分である。後に詳しく説明するように、上記潤滑皮膜は、前述した成分を含有する水溶液中に金属材を浸漬して形成される(浸漬法)が、ステアリン酸塩などのような水に殆ど溶解しない皮膜密着性向上成分を用いる場合は、界面活性剤を添加して分散性(塗布性)を高めることが好ましい。また、界面活性剤は、金属材の表面に吸着して防錆作用も有するため、耐食性も高められる。
潤滑皮膜の摩擦係数を低減して潤滑性を更に高めるため、潤滑剤は固体潤滑剤を含有してもよい。固体潤滑剤の種類は特に限定されず、例えば、パラフィンワックス、二硫化モリブデン、黒鉛、窒化硼素、雲母、フッ化黒鉛、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリエチレンなどが挙げられる。これらは、単独で用いても良いし、2種以上を併用しても良い。潤滑剤中に含まれる固体潤滑剤の量は、おおむね、0.1〜5%の範囲内であることが好ましい。
潤滑皮膜中には、耐食性を更に高める目的で、防錆剤を含有してもよい。防錆剤の種類は、特に限定されず、潤滑皮膜に通常含まれるものを用いることができるが、例えば、アルケニルコハク酸アミン塩、バナジン酸塩、ポリアクリル酸、シリカ、ベンゾトリアゾールなどが挙げられる。潤滑剤中に含まれる防錆剤の量は、おおむね、0.1〜5%の範囲内であることが好ましい。
硫酸塩は、キャリア性及び皮膜強度の向上に寄与し、金属材と加工用工具との焼き付き低減化に有用な成分である。特に、硫酸塩は、変形度の高い塑性加工を行う金属材に皮膜を形成する場合に極めて有用である。硫酸塩としては、例えば、アルカリ金属硫酸塩、アルカリ土類金属硫酸塩などが挙げられる。これらは単独で使用してもよいし、二種以上を併用してもよい。好ましい硫酸塩は、アルカリ金属硫酸塩(例えば、硫酸ナトリウム、硫酸カリウムなど)である。潤滑剤中に含まれる硫酸塩の量は、おおむね、5〜10%の範囲内であることが好ましい。
(供試材の作製)
金属材として、鋼種SCM440を熱間圧延して得られた熱間圧延線材(直径10.3mm)を、760℃で球状化焼鈍した後、酸洗(20%硫酸、75℃の酸洗液中に13分間浸漬後、15%塩酸、30℃の酸洗液中に13.5分間浸漬)して脱スケールし、水洗したものを用意した。

B:ステアリン酸亜鉛
C:水酸化カルシウム
D1:1−ドデセン/無水マレイン酸共重合体(数平均分子量28,000)のジメチルアミノプロピルアミン付加物・部分ナトリウム塩
D2:1−エイコセン/無水マレイン酸共重合体(数平均分子量16,000)のジエチルアミノヘキシルアミン付加物・部分ナトリウム塩
E1:界面活性剤としてスルホン酸ナトリウム
E2:防錆剤としてドデセニルコハク酸アミン塩
バウデン試験は、潤滑皮膜の耐焼き付き性および皮膜密着性を評価するために行なわれる試験である。図1を参照しながら、バウデン試験の概要を説明する。ここでは、神鋼造機社製のバウデン試験機を用いた。
試験片の形状:0.8mm×80mm×100mm
試験片の温度:200℃
荷重 :3kgf
滑り速度 :3.66mm/sec
鋼球 :SUJ−2、直径φ3/16インチ
摺動長さ :50mm
ボール通し試験は、潤滑皮膜の耐焼き付き性および皮膜強度を評価するために行なわれる試験である。前述したバウデン試験も、皮膜の耐焼き付き性を評価している点でボール通し試験と一致するが、バウデン試験は、主に皮膜密着性との関係で耐焼き付き性を評価している点で、主に、皮膜強度との関係で耐焼き付き性を評価するボール通し試験とは、厳密には相違している。本実施例では、耐焼き付き性を評価するため、これら両方の試験を実施しており、いずれの試験結果についても良好なものを、「耐焼き付き性に優れる」と総合評価している。

本実施例では、前述した表2のNo.1(本発明例)、No.10(比較例)およびNo.11(従来例)を用い、以下のようにして、順次伸線加工を行った後の潤滑性および耐食性を評価した。
上記のように伸線を行なったときの各伸線材の伸線荷重(引き抜き荷重)をそれぞれ測定すると共に、表面状態(表面肌)を観察した。具体的には、表4に示す減面率で繰り返し試験を行い、ロードセルによる荷重測定によって伸線荷重を測定した。なお、伸線は、表面に焼き付きが発生した時点で終了した。
耐食性は、皮膜処理後の各供試材を、温度40℃、湿度90%の恒温恒湿試験器(タバイエスペックPL−3SP)内に2週間放置した後、線材側面の表面(32.3cm2)に発生した錆の面積率を目視で観察し、評価した。

Claims (3)
- 下記A〜Dの成分を、A+B+C+Dの合計量に対する質量比率で以下の範囲で含有することを特徴とする塑性加工用水溶性潤滑剤。
A成分:水溶性無機塩を10〜30%、
B成分:有機金属塩を5〜30%、
C成分:アルカリ土類金属塩を10〜84.5%、
D成分:固体分散剤として、α−オレフィンと無水マレイン酸の共重合体と
N,N−ジアルキルアミノアルキルアミンとの反応物を
0.5〜30% - 潤滑皮膜を表面に備えたことを特徴とする塑性加工用金属材であって、
前記潤滑皮膜は、下記A〜Dの成分を、A+B+C+Dの合計量に対する質量比率で以下の範囲で含有することを特徴とする塑性加工用金属材。
A成分:水溶性無機塩を10〜30%、
B成分:有機金属塩を5〜30%、
C成分:アルカリ土類金属塩を10〜84.5%、
D成分:固体分散剤として、α−オレフィンと無水マレイン酸の共重合体と
N,N−ジアルキルアミノアルキルアミンとの反応物を
0.5〜30% - 請求項2に記載の塑性加工用金属材を塑性加工して得られる金属加工品。
