Abstract
Description
本出願は、2003年12月30日に出願された、仮出願第60/534,036号(代理人整理番号021356−001100US)の利益を主張し、この出願の開示は、本明細書中で参考として援用される。
本発明は、人体の中へエネルギーを正確な位置に送達するための携帯型医療デバイスに関する。このデバイスは、主に非侵襲性治療用である。
治療目的のための高密度焦点式超音波(HIFU)の適用における一般的な問題は、ある程度有意な時間にわたって静止した状態で治療手段を処置されるべき組織の上で保持することがしばしば必要になることである。あるいは、処置されるべき組織を通す治療ビームを緩徐で一定の速度でスキャンすることが必要であり得る。これらの両方の必要性は、携帯型治療デバイスに対する障害を提示する。所望の治療効果のために、このデバイスを静止させた状態で保持すること、または受容可能な緩徐で一定な速度でスキャンすることのいずれも、人間にとってはしばしば困難であるかまたは不可能であるからである。
本発明の目的は、容易に操作され得、そして信頼できかつ均一の処置を提供し得る、HIFU手順に有効な治療ヘッドを提供することである。
本明細書中で記載されるのは、主に高密度超音波手順における使用のためのデバイスである。ウィンドウを有するエンクロージャーを有する治療ヘッドが、開示される。このエンクロージャーは、1つ以上のエネルギーアプリケータ、およびエンクロージャー内でこのエネルギーアプリケータを動かす手段を備える。エネルギーアプリケータは位置決めされ、その結果、照射エネルギーがウィンドウを通して患者へ送られる。
すでに治療ヘッドが手続き用に完全に準備されている場合、医師は、患者に治療ヘッドを配置し得るだけでよい。治療ヘッドは、患者を処置するために、コントローラ中にプログラムされた手続きパラメータに従って、エンクロージャー内でエネルギーアプリケータを動かし得る。手続き領域が小さい場合、コントローラは、ユーザーからの追加入力なしで、エネルギーエミッタを動かしかつ起動し得る。
Claims (16)
- 超音波ヘッドであって、以下:
ウィンドウを有するエンクロージャー;
該エンクロージャー内で吊るされた少なくとも1つの方向性エネルギーアプリケータ;および
エネルギーアプリケータが該ウィンドウを通ってエネルギーを照射するように該エネルギーアプリケータを操作するための該エンクロージャー内のポジショナー
を備える、超音波ヘッド。 - 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記ウィンドウが、前記エネルギーアプリケータのための伝播性ウィンドウである、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エネルギーアプリケータが、超音波トランスデューサーである、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項3に記載のエネルギーアプリケータであって、前記超音波トランスデューサーが、画像化トランスデューサーである、アプリケータ。
- 請求項3に記載のエネルギーアプリケータであって、前記超音波トランスデューサーが、高密度焦点式超音波トランスデューサーである、アプリケータ。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エネルギーアプリケータが、超音波トランスデューサーコンポーネントである、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エネルギーアプリケータを操作する手段が、1つ以上の位置感知器を備える、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記ウィンドウは、使い捨てのトランスデューサーシールである、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記ポジショナーは、1つ以上のモーターによって駆動される複数のアクチュエータを備え、前記エネルギーアプリケータが、該アクチュエータに移動可能に取り付けられる、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項9に記載される前記エネルギーアプリケータを操作する手段であって、前記エンクロージャー内の移動を測定する複数のエンコーダをさらに備える、手段。
- 請求項10に記載される前記エネルギーアプリケータを操作する手段であって、前記モーターが、電気モーターである、手段。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エネルギーアプリケータが、前記エンクロージャー内で取り外し可能かつ交換可能である、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記ポジショナーが、複数のエンコーダをさらに備える、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項1に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エンクロージャーは、エンクロージャー上部およびエンクロージャー下部を規定する水平方向水密仕切りをさらに備え、該エンクロージャー上部は、前記操作する手段を備え、そして、該エンクロージャー下部は、前記エネルギーアプリケータを備える、前記ウィンドウが該エンクロージャー下部内にある、治療ヘッド。
- 請求項14に記載の治療ヘッドであって、前記エンクロージャー下部を通ってカップリング流体を循環する流体循環システムをさらに備える、治療ヘッド。
- 超音波エネルギーを体表面へ送達する方法であって、該方法は、以下の工程:
エンクロージャーを該体の構造に対して係合する工程;および
該エンクロージャー内の超音波トランスデューサーを位置決めし起動する工程であって、その結果、超音波エネルギーが、該エンクロージャー内のウィンドウを通して該体表面上をスキャンされ、該ウィンドウが該体表面に対して静止した状態のままでいる、工程
