Claims (20)
- 移動方向を有する移動ウエブ(26)上にスラリー(46)を堆積させるステップにおいて使用する供給装置であって、
主計量ロール(50)と、
前記計量ロール(50)に近い間隔で配置されて間にニップ(54)が形成されている副ロール(52)と、
前記スラリー(46)の供給分を保持するように構築及び構成されている前記ニップ(54)と、
前記ニップ(54)に保持されているスラリー(46)が前記計量ロール(50)の上側外周面(70)の上を進んで前記ウエブ(26)上に堆積するように前記ロール(50,52)を駆動する手段と、
を備えている、供給装置。 - 前記ロール(50,52)のそれぞれの端部に近接して配置されており、前記ニップ(54)の上にスラリーリザーバ(66)を形成する少なくとも1つの側壁(56)、を更に含んでいる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記側壁(56)が、粘着性のない材料によって作製されている、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)が、前記副ロール(52)よりも相対的に大きな直径を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)と前記副ロール(52)とが、ステンレス鋼の周面と粘着性のない弾性的な周面の一方を有する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記主計量ロール(50)との動作上の近接位置に配置されており、前記装置によって前記ウエブ(26)上に堆積させる前記スラリー層(46)の厚さを制御する厚さ制御ロール(68)、を更に含んでいる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記厚さ制御ロール(68)が前記計量ロール(50)の上方に位置している、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)と前記副ロール(52)とが同じ方向に回転し、更に、
前記厚さ制御ロール(68)が、前記計量ロール及び前記副ロール(50,52)と同じ方向に回転する、
請求項6に記載の装置。 - 前記厚さ制御ロール(68)が、前記計量ロール(50)よりも相当に小さい直径を有する、請求項6に記載の装置。
- スラリー(46)を前記ニップ(54)に供給するように構築及び配置されているスラリー供給往復運動機構(64)を更に含んでいる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記供給機構(64)が、スラリー(46)の供給源に接続されており、且つ前記ニップ(54)に近接している端部(62)を有する導管(58)、を含んでおり、前記導管端部(62)が、前記計量ロール及び前記副ロール(50,52)の端部の間で前記導管端部(62)を横に往復運動させる往復運動機構(78)と係合している、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記往復運動機構(78)が流体圧シリンダ(100)とケーブルプーリー(102)とを含んでいる、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)の下部に隣接して配置されており、スラリー(46)が前記ニップ(54)の方に前記計量ロール(50)の下面上を進むことを防止する除去ワイヤ(76)、を更に含んでいる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ロール(50,52)が前記ウエブ(26)の前記移動方向に対してほぼ横に配置されている、請求項1に記載の装置。

前記スラリー(46)の供給分を保持するように構築及び構成されている前記ニップ(54)と、
前記計量ロール(50)との動作上の位置関係に配置されており、前記ニップ(54)から前記計量ロール(50)の外面上に引き込まれるスラリー(46)の層の厚さを制御する厚さ制御ロール(68)と、
前記計量ロール(50)と、前記副ロール(52)と、前記厚さ制御ロール(68)とを同じ方向に駆動する手段と、
を備えており、
前記ロール(50,52)が前記ウエブ(26)の前記移動方向に対してほぼ横に配置されている、
供給装置。 - 前記回転方向が前記移動ウエブ(26)の前記移動方向の方である、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記ロール(50,52,68)のそれぞれの端部に近接して配置されており、前記ニップ(54)の上にスラリーリザーバ(66)を形成する少なくとも1つの側壁(56)、を更に含んでいる、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)が前記副ロール(52)より大きな直径を有し、前記副ロール(52)が前記厚さ制御ロール(68)より大きな直径を有する、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記計量ロール(50)の下部に隣接して配置されており、スラリー(46)が前記ニップ(54)の方に前記計量ロール(50)の下面上を進むことを防止する除去ワイヤ(76)、を更に含んでいる、請求項15に記載の装置。
