Abstract
Description
本発明は、基層を持続性のある親水性処理にかけることによって親水性にされた生分解可能なポリマー基層に関する。
本明細書で用いられる「含む」という用語は、包括的又は非制限的なものであり、記載されていない要素、構成要素、又は方法の段階を追加することを除外するものではない。
本明細書で用いられる「生分解可能なポリマー基層」という用語は、疎水性であるか又は湿潤性の程度が低い生分解可能なポリマーにされ、全て又は部分的に生分解可能なポリマーから構成された任意の形状の物品を含むよう意図される。例えば、基層は、フィルム又は発泡材料のシートのような、シート状材料とすることができる。シート状材料はまた、織布又は不織布或いは織ウェブ又は不織ウェブなどの繊維性ウェブとすることができる。基層はまた、本質的に生分解可能なポリマー繊維、又は繊維性ウェブに形成された生分解可能なポリマー繊維を含むことができる。繊維性ウェブは、限定ではないが、メルトブローンウェブ、スパンボンデッドウェブ、ボンデッド・カーデッド・ウェブ、又は空気堆積ウェブなどの不織ウェブであるのが望ましい。基層はまた、シート状材料の2つ又はそれ以上の層のラミネートとすることができる。例えば、層は、メルトブローンウェブ、スパンボンデッドウェブ、ボンデッド・カーデッド・ウェブ、及び空気堆積ウェブからなる群から単独で選択することができる。しかしながら、他のシート状材料を、メルトブローンウェブ、スパンボンデッドウェブ、ボンデッド・カーデッド・ウェブ、又は空気体積ウェブに加えて、又はこれらの代わりに用いることもできる。加えて、ラミネートの層は、同じ生分解可能なポリマー又は異なる生分解可能なポリマーから作製してもよい。
本明細書で用いられる「湿潤性」及びその変形の用語は、水性媒体、すなわち基層の表面上に広がる水性媒体によって湿潤可能であることを意味する。この用語は、「水で濡らすことが可能」という用語及びその変形と互換的に用いられ、同じ意味を有する。
本明細書で用いられる「繊維」という用語は、短繊維、すなわち約19mmと約60mmの間の定められた長さを有する繊維、及び短繊維より長いが連続的ではない繊維、並びに「実質的に連続するフィラメント」又は単に「フィラメント」と呼ばれる場合もある長繊維のいずれをも含む。繊維が作製される方法によって、繊維が短繊維か長繊維かが決まる。
代替的方法として、最初にコーティングを基層に塗布し、次に基層を反応種領域に曝すことができる。
コロナ処理された布の5グラム試料及び5グラムの未処理布を周囲条件で3ヶ月間保存した。保存期間後、各布の試料を25℃の水に入れた。保存された処理済み布は同様に0.5秒で沈み、未処理布は3分後でも沈まなかった。この結果は、布のコロナ処理は、周囲条件で3ヶ月の保存後でさえも親水性特性を保持したことを示している。
5グラム試料の処理布及び5グラム試料の未処理布を25℃の水に浸して、処理された布の各々の沈下時間、同様に未処理布の沈下時間を計測した。沈下時間は表1に示される。
布の試料2−A部分を0.2重量%のエチルヒドロキシエチルセルロース(Akzo NobelのBermocol E481)を含有する3つの水溶液の1つの中に浸漬し、布A、B、Cを形成した。白色から半透明に色が変化することにより示される布への完全な含浸後、布をAtlas実験用絞り器の2つのゴムローラ間に10lbs(約4.5kg)のニップ圧力で挟んだ。次いで、コーティングされた布を60℃のオーブンで約30分乾燥させた。

- 表面を有する生分解可能なポリマー基層から構成される持続性のある親水性表面を有する生分解可能な基層であって、該生分解可能なポリマー基層がコロナグロー放電を受けて前記表面が親水性にされたことを特徴とする生分解可能な基層。
- 前記生分解可能なポリマー基層が、シート状材料であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解可能な基層。
- 前記シート状材料が、発泡体、繊維、フィルム、及び繊維性ウェブからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の生分解可能な基層。
- 前記シート状材料が、生分解可能なポリマー繊維から構成される繊維性ウェブを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の生分解可能な基層。
- 前記生分解可能なポリマー繊維が、脂肪族ポリエステルポリマーを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の生分解可能な基層。
- 前記生分解可能なポリマー基層が、脂肪族ポリエステルポリマーを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の生分解可能な基層。
- 前記脂肪族ポリエステルポリマーが、ポリグリコール酸、ポリラクチドポリ乳酸、及びこれらのコポリマーからなる群から選択された少なくとも1つのポリマーを含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の生分解可能な基層。
