Claims (5)
- 凝集ゾーンと、合一ゾーンと、洗浄ゾーンとを含む単一反応容器中でトナーを製造する方法であって、
着色剤とラテックスエマルジョンを約1分〜約5分間凝集させて、凝集したトナー粒子を前記単一反応容器の凝集ゾーン中に形成する工程と、
前記凝集したトナー粒子を前記単一反応容器の合一ゾーン中で約0.5分〜約2分間合一させて、凝集および合一したトナー粒子を形成する工程と、
前記凝集および合一したトナー粒子を前記単一反応容器の洗浄ゾーン中で約1分〜約5分間洗浄し、それによってトナーを形成する工程とを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記凝集ゾーン中の前記着色剤とラテックスエマルジョンが約20℃〜約50℃の温度、および約2.5〜約7のpHであり、前記合一ゾーン中の前記凝集したトナー粒子が約70℃〜約98℃の温度、および約3.5〜約10のpHであり、前記洗浄ゾーン中の前記凝集および合一したトナー粒子が約20℃〜約65℃の温度、および約3〜約9のpHであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記ラテックスエマルジョンが、スチレン、アクリレート、メタクリレート、ブタジエン、イソプレン、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、アクリロニトリル、および場合によってその混合物からなる群から選択されるラテックス粒子を含み、前記凝集および合一したトナー粒子を含む粒子が約1μ〜約20μの直径を有し、前記着色剤が、ブラック顔料、シアン顔料、マゼンタ顔料、レッド顔料、ブラウン顔料、オレンジ顔料、イエロー顔料、およびその混合物からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、アルカリ土類金属塩および遷移金属塩からなる群から選択される凝集剤を前記凝集ゾーン中の前記ラテックスに加える工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化アンモニウム、水酸化ナトリウム中に溶解したケイ酸ナトリウム、およびその混合物からなる群から選択される金属水酸化物安定化剤を前記合一ゾーン中の前記凝集したトナー粒子に加える工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする方法。
