Claims (13)
- 一方向に延びるX電極及びY電極と,前記X電極と前記Y電極との間に配置されるA電極と,前記X電極及び前記Y電極と前記A電極とが交差する領域で定義される複数の放電セルとを含むプラズマディスプレイパネルに対し;
選択された前記放電セルを維持放電させる維持放電ステップで,前記X電極に低電位と高電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形を印加し,前記Y電極に前記高電位と前記低電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形の電圧を印加する際の;
前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の印加時間が,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の印加時間より長いこと;
を特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に印加される2回目以降の前記高電位の電圧の印加時間と,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される前記1回目以降の前記高電位の電圧の印加時間は,同じであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 一方向に延びるX電極及びY電極と,前記X電極と前記Y電極との間に配置されるA電極と,前記X電極及び前記Y電極と前記A電極とが交差する領域で定義される複数の放電セルとを含むプラズマディスプレイパネルに対し;
選択された前記放電セルを維持放電させる維持放電ステップで,前記X電極に低電位と高電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形を印加し,前記Y電極に前記高電位と前記低電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形の電圧を印加する際の;
前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の電位が,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の電位より高いこと;
を特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に印加される2回目以降の前記高電位の電圧の電位と,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される前記1回目以降の前記高電位の電圧の電位は,同じであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 一方向に延びるX電極及びY電極と,前記X電極と前記Y電極との間に配置されるA電極と,前記X電極及び前記Y電極と前記A電極とが交差する領域で定義される複数の放電セルとを含むプラズマディスプレイパネルに対し;
選択された前記放電セルを維持放電させる維持放電ステップで,前記X電極に低電位と高電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形を印加し,前記Y電極に前記高電位と前記低電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形の電圧を印加する際の;
前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に1回目の前記高電位の電圧が印加される期間における前記Y電極に印加される1回目の前記低電位の電圧の電位が,前記X電極に印加される1回目の前記低電位の電圧より低いこと;
を特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 発光させる放電セルを選択するアドレスステップを前記維持放電ステップの前に更に有し,
前記アドレスステップにて,前記X電極は接地電圧より高い電位を有するX電極第1電圧に維持され,前記A電極にはプラズマディスプレイ装置に入力される外部映像信号に応じたて正極性のパルス波形を含むアドレスパルス電圧が選択的に印加され,前記Y電極には負極性のパルス波形を含むスキャンパルス電圧が印加されることを特徴とする請求項1,3又は5に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 全ての放電セルを初期化するリセットステップを前記アドレスステップの前に更に有し,
前記リセットステップにて,前記Y電極には上昇ランプ式波形の電圧と下降ランプ式波形の電圧とを含むランプ式リセットパルス電圧が印加され,前記A電極は前記接地電圧に維持され,前記X電極には,前記下降ランプ式波形の電圧が前記Y電極に印加されるとき,前記接地電圧から前記X電極第1電圧にステップ式に上昇するステップ波形の電圧が印加されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 対向配置される前面基板及び背面基板と,
前記前面基板と前記背面基板との間の空間を区画して単位放電空間としての放電セルを形成する隔壁と,
前記前面基板の面方向に沿って一方向に延びるように前記隔壁に設けられるX電極及びY電極と,
前記X電極及び前記Y電極と交差するように延びて前記隔壁の前記X電極と前記Y電極との間の位置に設けられるA電極と,
前記放電セルに形成される蛍光体層とを含んで構成され;
選択された前記放電セルを維持放電させる維持放電ステップで,前記X電極に低電位と高電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形が印加され,前記Y電極に前記高電位と前記低電位の電圧を交互に有するパルス波形の電圧が印加される際に;
前記維持放電ステップにて前記X電極に1回目の前記高電位の電圧が印加される期間において,
前記X電極に,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の印加時間よりも長い印加時間を有する高電位の電圧が印加されるか,
前記X電極に,前記維持放電ステップにて前記Y電極に印加される1回目の前記高電位の電圧の電位よりも高い電位を有する高電位の電圧が印加されるか,または,
前記Y電極に,前記X電極に印加される1回目の前記低電位の電圧よりも低い電位を有する低電位の電圧が印加されること;
を特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記X電極,前記A電極及び前記Y電極は,
前記前面基板側を前面,前記背面基板側を背面,前記隔壁側を側面とする前記放電セルにおいて,前記放電セルの前記側面を取り囲むように配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記X電極,前記A電極及び前記Y電極は,
前記前面基板側から前記背面基板側に向かって,前記X電極,前記A電極,前記Y電極の順に前記隔壁の異なる層に配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記X電極,前記A電極及び前記Y電極は,
前記前面基板側から前記背面基板側に向かって,前記Y電極,前記A電極,前記X電極の順に前記隔壁の異なる層に配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記蛍光体層は,前記放電セルの前記前面基板側に配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。
