Abstract
【解決手段】リセット区間、アドレス区間、維持放電区間を持つ駆動信号により駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、維持放電区間で、上昇傾斜度を持って第1電圧に到達し、下降傾斜度を持ってグラウンド電圧に到達する第1維持パルス及び第2維持パルスが、それぞれ走査電極ライン及び維持電極ラインに互いに交互に印加され、第1維持パルス及び第2維持パルスにおいて少なくとも電圧が変移する期間が時間的に重畳され、電圧が変移する期間に、アドレス電極ラインに短パルスが印加される。

Claims (9)
- 前面基板と、前記前面基板に平行に配置された背面基板と、前記前面基板と背面基板との間に配置され、放電を引き起こす放電セルを区画する隔壁と、前記前面基板上に、前記背面基板方向に形成される前方誘電体層内に配置され、前記放電セルが配列される一方向に延びる走査電極ライン及び維持電極ラインと、前記背面基板上に、前記前面基板方向に形成される後方誘電体層内に配置され、前記走査電極ライン及び維持電極ラインが延びる方向と交差するように延びるアドレス電極ラインと、前記放電セル内に配置され、前記アドレス電極ラインの上部に位置する蛍光体層と、前記放電セル内にある放電ガスと、を備えるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して、リセット区間、アドレス区間、維持放電区間を持つ駆動信号により駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、
前記維持放電区間で、上昇傾斜度を持って前記第1電圧に到達し、下降傾斜度を持ってグラウンド電圧に到達する第1維持パルス及び第2維持パルスが、それぞれ前記走査電極ライン及び維持電極ラインに互いに交互に印加され、前記第1維持パルス及び前記第2維持パルスにおいて少なくとも電圧が変移する期間が時間的に重畳され、前記電圧が変移する期間に、前記アドレス電極ラインに短パルスが印加されることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記短パルスは、
第1維持パルスの電圧が変移する期間及び第2維持パルスの電圧が変移する期間のうち、少なくとも一部の期間に印加されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記短パルスは、
前記第1維持パルスまたは前記第2維持パルスが、グラウンド電圧から前記第1電圧に上昇する上昇期間に印加されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記短パルスは、
前記上昇期間が始まる時点に印加されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記短パルスのパルス幅は、前記第1維持パルスまたは第2維持パルスのパルス幅の半分より小さいことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記リセット区間では、前記走査電極ラインに、前記第1電圧の状態で上昇ランプ信号が印加されて、最終的に前記第1電圧から第2電圧だけ上昇した第3電圧に到達し、前記第1電圧の状態で下降ランプ信号が印加されて、最終的に第4電圧に到達し、前記維持電極ラインに、前記走査電極ラインへの前記下降ランプ信号の印加時から第5電圧が印加され、前記アドレス電極ラインに、グラウンド電圧が印加されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記アドレス区間では、前記走査電極ラインに第6電圧が印加されつつ、順次に第7電圧を持つ走査パルスがそれぞれ印加され、前記アドレス電極に、前記走査パルスに対応して、第8電圧を持つ表示データ信号が印加され、前記維持電極ラインに、前記第5電圧が印加され続けることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記短パルスは、
第9電圧を持ち、前記第9電圧は、前記第8電圧より小さいことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記短パルスは、
第9電圧を持ち、前記第9電圧は、前記第8電圧と同一であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
