Abstract

Description
有機光起電性装置は、有機電子冷光放射性装置として同じ構造を有するが、電荷は、例えば、WO96/16449に記載されるように結合するより分離する。
「緑色冷光放射性有機半導体材料」は、510〜580nm、好ましくは510〜570nmの範囲の波長を有する放射をする材料を意味する。
「青色冷光放射性有機半導体材料」は、400〜500nm、好ましくは430〜500nmの範囲の波長を有する放射をする材料を意味する。
電子輸送層の「主要構成要素」は、電子輸送層の50−100%、好ましくは90%以上、より好ましくは実質的に100%からなる構成要素を意味する。
次の実施例は、電子冷光放射材料が硫黄を含有し、カソードがバリウムを含有する層を有しない装置に比較する目的で、カソードがバリウムを含有する層を有する電子冷光放射装置の製造方法について述べる。
赤装置:F8BT、TFB及び赤の混合。
緑装置:ホスト材料とF8BTの混合。
F8BTは、ポリ(2,7−(9,9−ジ−n−オクチルフルオレン)−コ−3,6−ベンゾチアジアゾール)である。
TFBは、ポリ(2,7−(9,9−ジ−n−オクチルフルオレン)−コ−(1,4−フェニレン−((4−セク−ブチルフェニル)アミノ)−1,4−フェニレン)である。
赤は、ポリ(2,7−(9,9−ジ−n−オクチルフルオレン)−コ−(2,5−チエニレン−3,6−ベンゾチアジアゾール−2,5−チエニレン)である。
ホスト材料は、2,7−(9,9−ジ−n−オクチルフルオレン)90%及び1,4−フェニレン−((4−セク−ブチルフェニル)アミノ)−1,4−フェニレンである。
バリウムを含有する電子冷光放射層9は、4nmの厚さまで蒸着される。次いで、カルシウム層11の蒸発によってカソード10が厚さ約15Åまで蒸着され、アルミニウム層が約4000Åの厚さまで蒸着される。好ましくは、層の間の境界面の汚染を減少するために、連続層の蒸発の間に真空状態は保たれる。フッ化バリウムのような誘電層が蒸着されるとき、この材料の蒸発は好ましくは非常に遅い速度で行われる。例えば、これより幾分か速いものもあり得るが、好ましくは、1Å/s以下である。好ましくは、各カソード層が蒸着される前に、その蒸発温度以下の高めの温度、便宜的には650〜670℃で約5〜10分間、脱ガスされる。

Claims (14)
- アノード、カソード、アノードとカソードの間に位置する赤色、緑色及び青色電子冷光放射有機半導体材料、並びに電子冷光放射有機半導体材料及びカソードの間に位置しバリウムを含有する電子輸送層からなる光学装置。
- 電子輸送層が主要構成要素として単金属バリウムを含有する請求項1に記載の光学装置。
- 電子輸送層が主要構成要素として誘電性バリウムを含有する請求項1に記載の光学装置。
- 誘電性バリウムがフッ化バリウムである請求項3に記載の光学装置。
- 半導体材料がポリマーである請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
- ポリマーの少なくとも1つが選択的に置換されたポリフルオレン繰り返単位を含む請求項5に記載の光学装置。
- 半導体材料が硫黄含有複素環式繰返し単位を含む請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
- 複素環式繰返し単位は選択的に置換された4,7−結合ベンゾチアジアゾール、2,5−結合チオフェン及びこれらの組合せから選択される請求項7に記載の光学装置。
- バリウムを有する層が1〜6nmの厚さを有する請求項1ないし8のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
- カソードがアルミニウム層を有する請求項1ないし9のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
- アルミニウム層が200〜700nmの範囲の厚さを有する請求項10に記載の光学装置。
- カソードが電子輸送層とアルミニウム層の間のカルシウム層を有する請求項10又は11に記載の光学装置。
- カルシウム層が5〜25Åの厚さを有する請求項1ないし12のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
- ポリ(エチレンジオキシチオフェン)及びポリスチレンサルファネート(PEDOT−PSS)有する正孔注入層がアノードと半導体材料の間に位置される請求項1ないし13のいずれかに記載の光学装置。
