Abstract
【解決手段】帯状の正極、負極が帯状のセパレータ4を介して捲回された捲回群を有する鉛蓄電池において、集電体と打ち抜き加工により一体形成される集電タブ2が捲回群の端縁に設けられている正極又は負極の各集電タブのばり3を有する面が内側になるように捲回することで、ばりとセパレータの間に緩衝地帯となる空隙を設ける。

Description
続いて帯状の極板を正極と負極の間にセパレータを介して捲回する。各極板の集電タブのばりの向きを変えて表1に示すような構造の捲回群を作製した。
それぞれの電池を100個ずつ作製し初期不良率を調べた。ここでいう初期不良とは、電槽化成中の短絡による不良を指す。結果を表2に示す。
次にそれぞれの電池で初期不良が発生しなかったものに関して40℃雰囲気下で放置し、電池電圧の推移を測定した。この結果を図4に示す。集電タブ2の根元近傍にばり3が存在しセパレータを押し付けている場合、この部分の極間距離が非常に狭くなっており、またセパレータが傷つけられているため、自己放電が早くなり、電池電圧の低下が大きくなる。本発明である電池Aは電池電圧の低下が遅いのに対し、比較例の電池B、C、Dは電池電圧の低下が早い結果となった。つまり、本発明電池Aは、ばり3を有する面が内側になるように捲回されているので集電タブの根元近傍のばり3がセパレータに強く押し付けられることがないのに対し、比較例は集電タブの根元近傍のばり3がセパレータに強く押し付けられたために、自己放電が早くなったことを示している。

Claims (2)
- 帯状の正極、負極が帯状のセパレータを介して捲回された捲回群を有する鉛蓄電池であって、前記捲回群の端縁に前記正極又は負極の各集電タブが設けられており、該集電タブは、前記正極又は負極の集電体と一体に形成されており、また打ち抜き加工により一方の面にばりを有するものであり、前記捲回群は、前記各集電タブのばりを有する面が内側になるように捲回されたものであることを特徴とする捲回筒形密閉式鉛蓄電池。
- 前記ばりの位置は、前記集電タブの根元近傍であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の捲回筒形密閉式鉛蓄電池。
