Abstract
【解決手段】 負極22は、SnまたはSiを構成元素として含む負極活物質を含有している。セパレータ23は、突刺強度が厚みを20μmに換算した値で4.0N以上9.8N以下であり、巻回軸方向の引張強度が40MPa以上150MPa以下とされている。これにより、充放電において負極活物質が大きく膨張・収縮しても、セパレータ23の損傷が抑制され、内部短絡が抑制される。

Description
図1は、本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る二次電池の断面構成を表すものである。この二次電池は、いわゆる円筒型といわれるものであり、ほぼ中空円柱状の電池缶11の内部に、帯状の正極21と負極22とがセパレータ23を介して巻回された巻回電極体20を有している。電池缶11は、例えばニッケル(Ni)のめっきがされた鉄(Fe)により構成されており、一端部が閉鎖され他端部が開放されている。電池缶11の内部には、巻回電極体20を挟むように巻回周面に対して垂直に一対の絶縁板12, 13がそれぞれ配置されている。

図3は、本発明の第2の実施の形態の二次電池の構成を表すものである。この二次電池は、いわゆるラミネートフィルム型といわれるものであり、正極リード31および負極リード32が取り付けられた巻回電極体30をフィルム状の外装部材40の内部に収容したものである。
図1に示したような円筒型の二次電池を作製した。
45℃の環境中において、電流値1C、上限電圧4.2Vの定電流定電圧充電を行ったのち、電流値1Cの定電流放電を終止電圧2.5Vまで行うという充放電を200サイクル行い、2サイクル目の放電容量に対する200サイクル目の放電容量の容量維持率(%)を求めた。なお、1Cというのは電池容量を1時間で放電しきる電流値である。
各実施例ごとに5個の電池を用意し、充電した状態で150℃のオーブン中に1時間保存し、安全弁機構15が作動した個数を調べた。表1には安全弁機構15が作動しなかった良品の割合を示した。

負極活物質として、コバルト−スズ合金粉末に代えて、ケイ化マグネシウム(Mg2 Si)粉末を用いたことを除き、他は実施例1−1〜1−4と同様にして二次電池を作製した。その際、実施例2−1〜2−4で、実施例1−1〜1−4と同様に、セパレータ23の突刺強度および引張強度を表2に示したように変化させた。また、実施例2−1〜2−4に対する比較例2−1〜2−3として、セパレータの突刺強度および引張強度を表2に示したように変化させたことを除き、他は実施例2−1〜2−4と同様にして二次電池を作製した。
負極活物質として、コバルト−スズ合金粉末に代えて、CoSnC含有材料を用いたことを除き、他は実施例1−1〜1−4と同様にして二次電池を作製した。その際、実施例3−1〜3−4で、実施例1−1〜1−4と同様に、セパレータ23の突刺強度および引張強度を表3に示したように変化させた。
Claims (3)
- 正極と負極とをセパレータを介して巻回した巻回電極体を備え、
前記負極は、電極反応物質を吸蔵および放出することが可能であり、構成元素として金属元素および半金属元素のうちの少なくとも1種を含む負極活物質を含有し、
前記セパレータは、突刺強度が厚みを20μmに換算した値で4.0N以上9.8N以下であり、巻回軸方向の引張強度が40MPa以上150MPa以下である
ことを特徴とする電池。 - 前記負極は、前記負極活物質として、スズ(Sn)およびケイ素(Si)のうちの少なくとも一方を構成元素として含む材料を含有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。
- 前記負極は、前記負極活物質として、スズと、コバルト(Co)と、炭素(C)とを構成元素として含み、炭素の含有量が9.9質量%以上29.7質量%以下であり、かつスズとコバルトとの合計に対するコバルトの割合が30質量%以上70質量%以下であるCoSnC含有材料を含有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の電池。
