Claims (15)

  1. １．８インチ以上の直径を持つ１つ以上のプラッタを含む高電力ディスクドライブ（ＨＰＤＤ）と、
    １．８インチと等しいかそれ以下の直径を持つ１つ以上のプラッタを含む低電力ディスクドライブ（ＬＰＤＤ）と、
    前記ＬＰＤＤおよび前記ＨＰＤＤへのデータアクセスを全体的に制御するドライブ制御モジュールと、
    前記ドライブ制御モジュールとホストコンピュータとのインターフェイスを提供するホスト制御モジュールと
    を含み、
    前記ドライブ制御モジュール及び前記ホスト制御モジュールはチップ上システム（ＳＯＣ）として実装される
    マルチディスクドライブ。
    を更に備えた、請求項１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  2. 前記ドライブ制御モジュールは、
    前記ホスト制御モジュールと通信するハードドライブコントローラ（ＨＤＣ）と、
    前記ＨＤＣ、前記ＨＰＤＤ、及び前記ＬＰＤＤそれぞれと通信する高電力（ＨＰ）及び低電力（ＬＰ）スピンドル／ボイスコイルモータ（ＶＣＭ）ドライバと、
    前記ＨＤＣ、前記ＨＰＤＤ、及び前記ＬＰＤＤそれぞれと通信するＨＰ及びＬＰ読み書きチャンネル回路とを含む、請求項１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  3. 前記ドライブ制御モジュールは、前記ＨＤＣと通信するドライブプロセッサと、
    前記ＨＤＣと通信するバッファとを含む、請求項２に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  4. 前記ＬＰＤＤを前記ドライブ制御モジュールに直接接続するインターフェイスを更に備える、請求項１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  5. 前記インターフェイスは周辺構成部品相互接続（ＰＣＩ）とＰＣＩエキスプレスの１つである、請求項４に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  6. 前記ドライブ制御モジュールは高電力制御モジュールを備え、
    前記高電力制御モジュールは、
    前記ホスト制御モジュールと通信する第１のハードドライブコントローラ（ＨＤＣ）と、
    前記第１のＨＤＣ及び前記ＨＰＤＤと通信する第１のスピンドル／ボイスコイルモータ（ＶＣＭ）と、
    前記第１のＨＤＣ及び前記ＨＰＤＤと通信する第１の読み書きチャネル回路と
    を含む、請求項１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  7. 前記高電力制御モジュールはチップ上システム（ＳＯＣ）により実装される、請求項７に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  8. 前記高電力ドライブ制御モジュールは、
    前記第１のＨＤＣと通信する第１のドライブプロセッサと、
    前記第１のＨＤＣと通信する第１のバッファと
    を含む、請求項６に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  9. 前記ドライブ制御モジュールは低電力制御モジュールを備え、
    前記低電力制御モジュールは、
    前記ホスト制御モジュールと通信する第２のハードドライブコントローラ（ＨＤＣ）と、
    前記第２のＨＤＣ及び前記ＬＰＤＤと通信する第２のスピンドル／ボイスコイルモータ（ＶＣＭ）ドライバと、
    前記第２のＨＤＣ及び前記ＬＰＤＤと通信する第２の読み書きチャネル回路と
    を含む、請求項２に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  10. 前記低電力制御モジュールはチップ上システム（ＳＯＣ）により実装される、請求項９に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  11. 前記低電力ドライブ制御モジュールは、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第２のドライブプロセッサと、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第１のバッファと
    を含む、請求項９に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  12. 前記ドライブ制御モジュールは、
    前記ホスト制御モジュールと通信する第１のハードドライブコントローラ（ＨＤＣ）と、
    前記第１のＨＤＣ及び前記ＨＰＤＤと通信する第１のスピンドル／ボイスコイルモータ（ＶＣＭ）ドライバと、
    前記第１のＨＤＣ及び前記ＨＰＤＤと通信する第１の読み書きチャネル回路と、
    前記ＬＰＤＤと通信する第１のインターフェイスと
    を含む、請求項１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  13. 前記ＨＰＤＤは、
    前記第１のＨＤＣと通信する第１のドライブプロセッサと、
    前記第１のＨＤＣと通信する第１のバッファと
    をさらに含む、請求項１１に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  14. 前記ＬＰＤＤは、
    前記第１のインターフェイスと通信する第２のインターフェイスと、
    前記第２のインターフェイスと通信する第２のハードドライブコントローラ（ＨＤＣ）と、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第２のスピンドル／ボイスコイルモータ（ＶＣＭ）ドライバと、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第２の読み書きチャネル回路と
    を含む、請求項１２に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
  15. 前記ＬＰＤＤは、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第２のドライブプロセッサと、
    前記第２のＨＤＣと通信する第２のバッファと
    をさらに含む、請求項１４に記載のマルチディスクドライブ。
