Abstract

本発明は:(i)(a)バスとして電気的に接続されている導電層、(b)アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含む層及び(c)少なくとも1種の導電性金属種を含む導電性金属層を含む多層カソード;(ii)少なくとも1種の電気活性有機層;並びに(iii)導電性金属層に電気的に接続されているアノードを含む有機電子デバイスを提供する。

Description
MnXm
(式中、Mは、各使用時毎に独立してアルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニド金属イオンであり、及びXは、各使用時毎に独立して水酸化物、酸化物、硫化物、セレン化物、テルル化物、亜硫酸塩、亜硫酸水素塩、硫酸塩、硫酸水素塩、亜リン酸塩、亜燐酸水素塩、リン酸塩、リン酸水素塩、硝酸塩、亜硝酸塩、過塩素酸塩、パークロライト(perchlorite)、BF4 −、PF6 −、ホスホン酸塩、スルホン酸塩、ホウ酸、ボロネート(boronate)、炭酸塩、炭酸水素塩、及び有機カルボン酸塩から成る群から選ばれるアニオンであり、並びにn及びmは、独立して1〜約20の整数である)
を有する。
ポリキノキサリン及びその誘導体;並びにポリキノリン及びその誘導体である。これらのポリマー又は1種以上のこれらのポリマーを主成分とするコポリマーと、他のポリマーとの混合物を使うと、発光の色を調整することが可能である。
[実施例]
実施例1:2層カソード及び3層カソードを持つ有機電子デバイスの作製
次の手順に従って2種類の有機発光デバイスを作製した。これらのデバイスを、インジウムスズ酸化物(即ちITO)でプレコートされたガラス基板の上に作製した(アプライド・フィルムズ(Applied Films))。ポリ(3,4−エチレンジオキシチオフェン/ポリスチレンスルホネート(PEDOT))(バイエル社(Bayer Corporation))の厚さ約65nmの層を、スピンコーティングによって紫外線−オゾン処理済みITO基板の上に堆積させた。この層を空気中、180℃で30分間ベーキングした。PEDOTで被覆したITO基板を、水分及び酸素の存在が1ppm未満である雰囲気管理型(controlled−atmosphere)グローブボックスの中に入れた。このPEDOT層の上に青色発光ポリマー(アメリカン・ダイ・ソース社(American Dye Source,Inc.)、ケベック、カナダ国、製のADS329BE)の厚さ約70nmの層をスピンコートした。カソード材料を2×10−6トルの真空で加熱蒸発させた。1つの例では、カソードは、4nmのNaFに続いて100nmのAlで構成して2層のカソードを得た;もう1つの例では、カソードは、4nmのNaFに続いてNaFとAlが1:2の比の混合物で厚さ約30nmに構成し、次に厚さ100nmのAl層で被覆して3層カソードを得た。デバイスは、エポキシ封止ガラススライドを使って封入した。有機発光デバイスの電流−電圧特性は、プログラム化したケイスレイ(Keithley)236光源測定装置で測定した。輝度は、ミノルタ(Minolta)輝度計(型式LS−110)で測定した。3層カソード付きデバイスは、2層カソード付きデバイスと比較すると、効率ばかりでなく、類似の電流−電圧特性も実証することが判った。2層カソードに必要な厳密な厚さ管理は、3層カソードに対する要求事項ではないことが結論づけられた。2層カソード及び3層カソードを形成する化合物及び金属に対して、(i)金属が化学的に(第1層及び/又は混合物の中の)化合物を還元して中性Naを遊離し、これが有機材料をドーピングする、及び(ii)第1化合物層も下地有機材料を保護し、アルミニウムのような反応性金属によって引起される僅かな損傷の可能性も減らすような作用メカニズムが発現するようであることも結論づけられた。

Claims (10)
- (a)導電層であって、前記導電層はバスとして電気的に接続されていること;
(b)アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含む層;及び
(c)少なくとも1種の導電性金属種を含む導電性金属層、
を含むことを特徴とする多層カソード。 - アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンの前記供給源が、式:
MnXm
(式中、Mは、各使用時毎に独立してアルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニド金属イオンであり、及びXは、各使用時毎に独立して水酸化物、酸化物、硫化物、セレン化物、テルル化物、亜硫酸塩、亜硫酸水素塩、硫酸塩、硫酸水素塩、亜リン酸塩、亜燐酸水素塩、リン酸塩、リン酸水素塩、硝酸塩、亜硝酸塩、過塩素酸塩、パークロライト(perchlorite)、BF4 −、PF6 −、ホスホン酸塩、スルホン酸塩、ホウ酸、炭酸塩、炭酸水素塩、及び有機カルボン酸塩から成る群から選ばれるアニオンであり、並びにn及びmは、独立して1〜約20の整数である)
を有することを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の多層カソード。 - 前記導電層(a)が、インジウム−スズ酸化物、金、銀、アルミニウム、白金、クロム、パラジウム、又はそれの混合物のうちの少なくとも1種を含むことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の多層カソード。
- 前記導電性金属層(c)が、アルミニウム、カルシウム、マグネシウム、パラジウム、白金、銀、金、水銀、コバルト、銅、ニッケル、ガリウム、炭素、又はそれの組み合わせ物のうちの少なくとも1種を含むことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の多層カソード。
- 前記層(b)が、アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含み、更に、少なくとも1種の導電性金属を含み、前記導電性金属は層(c)の導電性金属種と同じか又は異なることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の多層カソード。
- アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含む層(b);
少なくとも1種の導電性金属種を含む導電性金属層(c);
アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源、及び少なくとも1種の導電性金属を含む層(b’)であって、前記導電性金属は層(c)の導電性金属種と同じか又は異なること、
を含むことを特徴とする多層カソード。 - 層(b)及び層(b’)の中に存在しているアルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンの前記供給源が同じでも又は異なってもよく、且つ式:
MnXm
(式中、Mは、各使用時毎に独立してアルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニド金属イオンであり、及びXは、各使用時毎に独立して水酸化物、酸化物、硫化物、セレン化物、テルル化物、亜硫酸塩、亜硫酸水素塩、硫酸塩、硫酸水素塩、亜リン酸塩、亜燐酸水素塩、リン酸塩、リン酸水素塩、硝酸塩、亜硝酸塩、過塩素酸塩、パークロライト(perchlorite)、BF4 −、PF6 −、ホスホン酸塩、スルホン酸塩、ホウ酸、炭酸塩、炭酸水素塩、及び有機カルボン酸塩から成る群から選ばれるアニオンであり、並びにn及びmは、独立して1〜約20の整数である)
を有することを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第6項に記載の多層カソード。 - 前記導電性金属層(c)が、アルミニウム、カルシウム、マグネシウム、パラジウム、白金、銀、金、水銀、コバルト、銅、ニッケル、ガリウム、炭素、又はそれの組み合わせ物のうちの少なくとも1種を含むことを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第6項に記載の多層カソード。
- (i)多層カソードであって;前記カソードが:
(a)導電層であって、前記導電層はバスとして電気的に接続されていること;
(b)アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含む層;及び
(c)少なくとも1種の導電性金属種を含む導電性金属層、
を含むこと;
(ii)少なくとも1種の電気活性有機層;並びに
(iii)アノードであって、前記アノードは前記導電性金属層に電気的に接続されていること、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電子デバイス。 - (i)多層カソードであって;前記カソードが:
(a)アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源を含む層;
(b)少なくとも1種の導電性金属種を含む導電性金属層;及び
(c)アルカリ金属イオン、アルカリ土類金属イオン、又はランタニドイオンのうちの少なくとも1種の供給源、及び少なくとも1種の導電性金属を含む層であって、前記導電性金属は層(c)の導電性金属種と同じか又は異なること;
(ii)少なくとも1種の電気活性有機層;並びに
(iii)アノードであって、前記アノードは前記導電性金属層に電気的に接続されていること、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電子デバイス。
