Abstract
Description
1. 最小期間tminの間、アノード電位a1を強制的にグラウンドに移動する。必要時間は、ディスプレイの通常のライン時間の一部とされることができ、必要に応じて、アノードは全ライン時間の間強制的にグラウンドに移動されることができる。グラウンドへの結合には、電流に依存するアノード出力特性が使用されることができ、そのため、Ia=0ならばRa(I)=0である。
2. 1つよりも多いカソードがグラウンドにスイッチされることができる。代わりに、2つのカソードがグラウンドにスイッチされることができ、又は、1つを除いた全てのカソードがスイッチされることさえできる。回復電流が接地されたカソードドライバによって低下されるという利点がある。この運転モードは、以下で「逆多重」運転モードと呼ばれる。2つの隣接したカソードc3及びc1が選択される方式が、図3に示される。
3. 所与のドライバ出力インピーダンスについて、欠陥Rdにおいて放散されるパワーは、インピーダンスマッチングによって、即ち、Rdが電気的環境の全出力インピーダンスに等しいときに、最大化される。欠陥を融解するために逆多重化が用いられる場合、この条件は、Rc, deがRdにほぼ等しくなければならないことを要求する。最大の可能な範囲の欠陥をカバーするために、非常に低オームのカソードドライバ出力が用いられることができる。カソードドライバで実現される抵抗値Rc, de及びRc, selは、セルの最大許容可能回復力及び短絡の周波数に関連していなければならない。さもなければ、回復が欠陥の周りのカソード層の蒸発に基づいている場合には、黒点がディスプレイ内に生成する危険性がある。
Claims (17)
- 平面ディスプレイの低オーム欠陥を回復する方法において、所定の期間、前記平面ディスプレイの影響されるサブエリアに追加の電流を通電し、当該電流は、少なくとも1つの欠陥又は少なくとも1つの欠陥の特定の周辺部を、当該少なくとも1つの欠陥の初期抵抗よりも高い抵抗を有する高オーム状態に変化するように選択される、ことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記電流を開始値から最大値まで段階的に増加させることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記所定の期間は、前記ディスプレイのライン時間又はフレーム時間の関数である、ことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記ディスプレイは、有機又は高分子発光ダイオードディスプレイである、ことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記回復電流は、アノード又はカソードの並列切り換え又は短絡によって前記ディスプレイの実効電極抵抗を低下させることにより、接続されたドライバ回路によって生成される、ことを特徴とする方法。
- 前記ディスプレイのライン又はカソード及びコラム又はアノードの各々のドライバに関する請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載の方法において、前記電流は、前記コラムドライバ若しくはアノードドライバ又は前記ラインドライバ若しくはカソードドライバのうちの1つ又は幾つかをグラウンド又は供給電圧に接続して、前記影響されるピクセルの両端の電位差又は前記影響されるピクセルを通じる電流を最大化することによって生成される、ことを特徴とする方法。
- アナログ供給電圧ライン若しくはアナログ供給電圧ライン及びグラウンド電圧ラインの両方の電位を変化させることによって、又は、適当なデータライン及びアドレスライン電圧を調整することによりピクセルを駆動するのに用いられる半導体スイッチのオン抵抗を調整することによって、アクティブ駆動マトリクスディスプレイに適用される、請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項6又は7に記載の方法において、前記ドライバのうちの少なくとも1つの出力インピーダンス又は前記アナログ供給電圧の出力インピーダンスを適応させることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至8の何れか1項に記載の方法を選択された時間に適用することによってパッシブ又はアクティブ駆動ディスプレイの寿命を向上させる方法。
- 請求項9に記載の方法において、請求項1乃至8の何れか1項に記載の方法を適用する前に前記ディスプレイ又は前記ディスプレイの一部のリーク電流を測定することを特徴とする方法。
- 平面ディスプレイの低オーム欠陥を回復するための装置において、少なくとも1つの欠陥又は少なくとも1つの欠陥の特定の周辺部を、当該少なくとも1つの欠陥の初期抵抗よりも高い抵抗を有する高オーム状態に変化するように制御手段によって選択された追加電流を供給する手段を特徴とする装置。
- 請求項11に記載の装置において、前記制御手段は前記所定の期間を設定する、装置。
- 請求項11に記載の装置において、前記ディスプレイの実効電極抵抗をアノード又はカソードの並列切り換え又は短絡によって低下させるための手段を特徴とする装置。
- 前記ディスプレイのライン又はカソード及びコラム又はアノードの各々のためのドライバとの使用のための請求項11に記載の装置において、前記コラムドライバ若しくはアノードドライバ又は前記ラインドライバ若しくはカソードドライバのうちの1つ又は幾つかをグラウンド又は供給電圧に接続するための手段を特徴とする装置。
- 請求項11に記載の装置において、アクティブ駆動マトリクスディスプレイのアナログ供給電圧ライン又はアナログ供給電圧ライン及びグラウンド電圧ラインの両方の電位を変化させるための手段を特徴とする装置。
- 請求項11に記載の装置において、前記ドライバのうちの少なくとも1つの出力インピーダンス又はアナログ供給電圧の出力インピーダンスを適応させる手段を特徴とする装置。
- 低オーム欠陥を回復するための手段を備えたディスプレイにおいて、少なくとも1つの欠陥又は少なくとも1つの欠陥の特定の周辺部を、当該少なくとも1つの欠陥の初期抵抗よりも高い抵抗を有する高抵抗状態に変化するように制御手段によって選択された追加電流を供給する手段を特徴とするディスプレイ。
