Abstract
Description
先に述べたように、現行の歯科矯正のストレートワイヤ手法における、従来技術の歯科矯正ワイヤの基本設計は平プレーナ形状である。ブラケットのスロットは全て、歯が所望の咬合位置に移動されると、平面上にある。したがって、断面が長方形の、弧線(アーチワイヤ)自体は平プレーナ形状を有する。このことは、先に述べたCONSEALブラケットとともに用いられるべきワイヤについても当てはまる。ワイヤの断面の方向は(ワイヤの長辺が垂直である)垂直態様で定められるが、弧線は咬合面に実質的に平行な面を形成しているままであり、断面の向きはワイヤに沿って維持される。この現象の第一義的な理由は、平プレーナ形状をもつ弧線の工業的製作の容易さである。本発明の第1の態様において、発明者等は平プレーナ弧線からの重要な新発展を提案する。
軽減された構音問題、
軽減された舌の刺激、
軽減されたブラケット喪失の危険(ブラケットが平らになるほど、患者がブラケットを噛むときのモーメント半径が短くなり、接着剤接続部における応力が小さくなる)、
高められた仕上げのための位置決め制御(ワイヤと歯の間隔が短くなるほど、歯はワイヤによく“追従”する)

が得られる。
歯に接着されるブラケット14(“パッド”)の表面24の“フットプリント”は、調製ではないパッドが用いられる場合には、妥協の産物である。フットプリントが小さくなるほど、パッド表面と歯表面の間の不一致は当然小さくなり、かなりの空隙を閉じる必要が軽減される。他方で、フットプリントが大きくなるほど、接着剤による接合はより安定であり、処置途上でブラケットが外れる危険性がより低くなる。
本装置システムにしたがうブラケットは患者毎に個別に作成されなければならない。ラボプロセスでこれを行うと、時間がかかり、費用もかかるであろう。最適配向でブラケットを設計することも達成が困難である。本発明は、好ましい実施形態におけるパッドの形状寸法を含む、ブラケットを、仮想3次元ブラケット接着パッド、仮想ブラケット本体及びフックのようなブラケットのための仮想補助具を用い、コンピュータを用いて設計することにより、上記問題を解決する。
パッド及びブラケット本体が1つの3Dオブジェクトに結合されてしまえば、“高速原型作成”装置を用いる直接製作を可能にするため、このオブジェクトを表すデータを、例えばSTLフォーマットで、エクスポートすることができる。技術上良く知られている、多くの様々な、適切な高速原型作成技法がすでに存在する。それらの技法には、ステレオリソグラフィ装置(“SLA”)、積層物体製作法、選択レーザ焼結法、融着堆積模型製作法、固相粉砕硬化法、及び3Dインクジェット印刷法がある。当業者はこれらの技法に詳しい。
以下に説明するプロセスは、すでに試して成功したプロセスである。上節でのコメントから、多くの変形が可能であることは明らかである。読者は以下の説明において図2,3A及び9A〜15に導かれる。以下の説明は、本発明の実施に対して既知の、発明者等の最善の態様の開示としてなされ、本発明の範囲に関して制限することは目的とされていない。

Claims (16)
- 調製歯科矯正ブラケット(14)の設計及び製作方法において、
a) 患者の歯列の領域のデジタル表現をコンピュータに格納する工程、
b) 前記コンピュータにある仮想3次元ブラケット本体のライブラリにアクセスする工程、
c) 前記患者の対応する歯(16)の3次元表面(54)と実質的に同形である歯側表面(16A)を有するブラケット接着パッド(18)の形状及び構成を決定する工程、
d) ブラケット本体(20)の前記ライブラリからのブラケット本体(20)を前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)と組合わせることによって個別の調製歯科矯正ブラケットをつくる工程、及び
e) 前記調製歯科矯正ブラケット(14)を表すデジタルデータを前記コンピュータから前記調製歯科矯正ブラケット(14)を製作するための製作システムにエクスポートする工程
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記製作システムが、用いられるべき前記ブラケット(14)の形象を、陽型として製作するための高速原型作成システムを含み、前記方法が前記調製歯科矯正ブラケット(14)を注入成形する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- レーザ焼結プロセスを用いて前記ブラケット(14)を製作する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記歯列の前記デジタル表現を所望の最終位置にコンピュータ上で修正する工程をさらに含み、前記工程c)及びd)は、前記歯が前記所望の最終位置に仮想的に移動された後に実施されることを特徴とする請求項1,2または3に記載の方法。
- 前記患者の前記歯の実体模型を作成する工程、前記歯を所望の咬合に配置するように前記実体模型を操作する工程及び前記所望の咬合にある前記歯の前記実体模型をスキャンする工程をさらに含み、前記デジタル表現が前記スキャンする工程から導出された3次元表示を含むことを特徴とする請求項1,2,3または4に記載の方法。
- 前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)が前記歯側表面(24)の逆側にある第2の逆側表面(26)を有し、前記歯側表面(24)及び前記第2の逆側表面(26)が、対応する前記歯(16)の3次元表面と実質的に正確に対応する3次元領域範囲を有することを特徴とする請求項1,2,3,4または5に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの前記ブラケット(14)及び前記ブラケット(14)のスロット(22)の3次元位置に関する情報を、前記患者のための調製歯科矯正弧線(10)を曲げ加工するためのワイヤ曲げ加工ロボットに転送する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1,2,3,4,5または6に記載の方法。
- 前記ブラケット本体(20)が前記弧線(10)を受け入れるための前記スロット(22)を形成する要素を備え、前記要素が前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)と結合される場所において前記スロット(22)が前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)にほぼ平行に向きが定められることを特徴とする請求項1,2,3,4,5,6または7に記載の方法。
- 前記ブラケット(14)が前記ブラケット(14)のためのU字形インレーを前記スロット(22)にさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1,2,3,4,5,6,7または8に記載の方法。
- 請求項1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8または9に記載の方法にしたがって製作されていることを特徴とする患者のための一組のブラケット(14)。
- 前記工程c)及びd)が、前記患者の歯列の3次元仮想モデルへのユーザアクセスを提供するコンピュータソフトウエアを使用するユーザにより実施されることを特徴とする請求項1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8または9に記載の方法.
- 患者のためのブラケット(14)であって、前記患者の歯(16)に接着するための接着パッド(18)と、弧線(10)を受け入れるためのスロット(22)とを有し、
前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)が前記歯(16)の形状と同形の3次元歯側表面(24)及び同じく前記歯(16)の形状と同形の逆側表面を有し、前記ブラケット(14)の前記スロット(22)の向きが前記ブラケット接着パッド(18)のそれぞれに対してほぼ平行に合せて定められていることを特徴とするブラケット。 - 前記ブラケット(14)が舌側ブラケットを含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載のブラケット。
- 患者歯列弓の複数の歯を処置するための、請求項12または13に記載のブラケット(14)にしたがう一組のブラケット。
- 前記ブラケット(14)が唇側ブラケットを含むことを特徴とする請求項12または14に記載のブラケット。
- 前記歯側表面(24)が接着されるべき歯(16)の舌側または唇側表面の少なくとも50%を、前記歯側表面(24)が覆うことを特徴とする請求項12,13,14または15に記載のブラケット。
