Description
Claims (20)
- 磁気記憶媒体と共に用いる記録ヘッドであって、
輻射エネルギーを伝達する経路を備える導波路(58)と、
前記導波路内に位置し、複数の腕(72、74、76、78)を含む近接結合構造(70)であって、それぞれが、平坦部分及び屈曲部分を有し、前記平坦部分は、前記磁気記憶媒体の表面にほぼ平行であり、前記屈曲部分は、前記磁気記憶媒体の方へ延び、空気支承の表面に隣接する間隙を形成するように離れている、近接結合構造と、
前記輻射エネルギーによって加熱される前記磁気記録媒体の部分に書き込み磁界を印加する手段(32)、を備える記録ヘッド。 - 前記経路内に位置し、前記磁気記憶媒体の表面と光共振空洞(116)を形成する半反射層(114)をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 前記半反射層が、前記輻射エネルギーの半波長の整数倍にほぼ等しい距離だけ前記磁気記憶媒体から離れたところに位置する請求項2に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 書き込み磁界を前記磁気記録媒体に印加する前記手段が、
書き込み磁極(36)と、戻り磁極(38)とを有する磁気ヨーク(34)、及び、前記ヨークにおいて磁束を発生させるコイル(50)を備え、前記近接結合構造が前記書き込み磁極に隣接して位置する、請求項1に記載の記録ヘッド。 - 前記導波路が、前記書き込み磁極に隣接して取り付けられた透明層(60)を備える、請求項4に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 前記書き込み磁極が、前記近接結合構造に対してトラックの下流に配置される、請求項4に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 前記複数の腕は4つの腕からなり、前記腕の屈曲部分は前記空気支承の表面に隣接して四角形の開口(110)を形成する、請求項1に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 前記近接結合構造の長さが、前記導波路におけるの半波長又は全波長の整数倍にほぼ等しい、請求項1に記載の記録ヘッド。
- 磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム(10)であって、
ハウジング(12)と、
前記ハウジング内に位置する磁気記憶媒体を保持する手段(14)と、
記録ヘッドを前記回転可能磁気記憶媒体に隣接して位置決めする手段(18)とを備え、前記記録ヘッドは、
輻射エネルギーを伝達する経路を備える導波路(58)と、
前記導波路内に位置し、複数の腕(72、74、76、78)を含む近接結合構造(70)であって、それぞれが、平坦部分及び屈曲部分を有し、前記平坦部分は、前記磁気記憶媒体の表面にほぼ平行であり、前記屈曲部分は、前記磁気記憶媒体の方へ延び、空気支承の表面に隣接する間隙を形成するように離れている、近接結合構造と、
前記輻射エネルギーによって加熱される前記磁気記録媒体の部分に書き込み磁界を印加する手段(32)、を備える磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。 - 前記記録ヘッドが、前記経路内に位置し、前記磁気記憶媒体の表面と光共振空洞(116)を形成する半反射層(114)をさらに備える、請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 前記半反射層が、前記輻射エネルギーの半波長の整数倍にほぼ等しい距離だけ前記磁気記憶媒体から離れたところに位置する、請求項10に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 書き込み磁界を前記磁気記録媒体に印加する前記手段が、
書き込み磁極(36)と、戻り磁極(38)とを有する磁気ヨーク(34)、及び、前記ヨークにおいて磁束を発成させるコイル(50)を備え、前記近接結合構造が前記書き込み磁極に隣接して位置する、請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。 - 前記導波路が、前記書き込み磁極に隣接して取り付けられた透明層(60)を備える、請求項12に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 前記書き込み磁極が、前記近接結合構造に対してトラックの下流に配置される、請求項12に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 前記複数の腕は4つの腕からなり、前記腕の屈曲部分は前記空気支承の表面に隣接して四角形の開口(110)を形成する、請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 磁界を印加する前記手段が垂直書き込みヘッド(112)を備える、請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- 前記近接結合構造の長さが、前記導波路における前記輻射エネルギーの半波長又は全波長の整数倍にほぼ等しい、請求項9に記載の磁気ディスク・ドライブ記憶システム。
- データを磁気記憶媒体に記録する方法であって、
透明層(60)、半反射層(114)、及び近接結合構造(70)を含む導波路(58)に、輻射エネルギーが前記半反射層と前記データ記憶媒体の表面の間で共振する周波数で輻射エネルギーを印加することによって、前記データ記憶媒体(40)を加熱すること、及び、
前記輻射エネルギーによって加熱される前記磁気記録媒体の部分に書き込み磁界を印加することを含む方法。 - 前記近接結合構造が、前記データ記憶媒体の表面から約2nmから約50nmの距離だけ離れて配置されている、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記半反射層が、前記磁気記憶媒体から、前記輻射エネルギーの半波長の整数倍にほぼ等しい距離だけ離れたところに位置する、請求項18に記載の方法。
