I.発明の分野
本発明は、車両のドアビームに関する。
車両のドアビームは、車両のドアの衝撃強さを高め、それによって安全性を高めるために、自動車産業において広く使用されている。車両製造業者は、車両を乗員にとってより安全なものにすると共に、燃料効率を改善することを望む。したがって、ドアビームは、衝撃に耐える強度と燃料効率を高めるための軽量化とのつり合いをとらなければならない。

I.ドアビームの構造
ドアビーム10は、図2及び図4に示されているように、第1厚さ部分42及び第2厚さ部分44を有するウェブ材40として製造が開始される。好適な実施形態では、第1厚さ部分42及び第2厚さ部分44は、ウェブ材40の形成中に形成される。もちろん、第1及び第2厚さ部分42および44は、ウェブ材40を閉じて(enclosed upon itself)管状にする前の他の任意時に形成することができる。第1厚さ部分42及び第2厚さ部分44は、ロール成形、プレス加工または他の任意の処理によって形成することができる。好適な実施形態では、ウェブ材40は、連続ウェブ材40から連続ビームに成形され、所定長さに切断されて、個別のドアビーム10に形成される。また、連続ウェブ材40を個別の金属ブランク(図示せず)に成形してから、ドアビーム10に成形したり、あるいは、ウェブ材を、ドアビーム10に成形される個別の金属ブランクとして製造してもよい。
図4及び図5は、ウェブ材40の第1の代替的な実施形態を示し、ドアビーム10の断面図である。この代替的な実施形態では、ウェブ材40は、中央より側縁部50付近が厚く形成されている。したがって、継ぎ目26は、厚い領域に沿っている。
Claims (19)
- ある断面を有する管状体になるように閉じられた、異なった厚さを有する第1領域及び第2領域を含む変形可能なウェブを備えたドアビーム。
- 前記変形可能なウェブは、両側縁部を有し、該側縁部は、前記管上で結合されて継ぎ目を形成する請求項1に記載のドアビーム。
- 前記継ぎ目は、溶接部である請求項2に記載のドアビーム。
- 前記管は、中央部分及び取り付け部分を有し、該中央部分は、前記第1厚さ及び前記第2厚さを含む前記閉じ構造を有する請求項1に記載のドアビーム。
- 異なった厚さを有する第1及び第2周領域を含む管を形成するように閉じた変形可能なウェブを備えた管状物体。
- 前記変形可能なウェブは、側縁部を有し、該側縁部は、前記管上で結合される請求項5に記載の管状物体。
- 前記結合側縁部は、溶接される請求項6に記載の管状物体。
- 前記変形可能なウェブは、

該ベースに結合された少なくとも1つのストリップと
を含み、
前記ベースは、前記第1厚さを形成し、
前記ベース及び前記金属ストリップは、前記第2厚さを形成する請求項5に記載の管状物体。 - ドアビームであって、

前記中央区域は、閉じられるとともに、厚さが異なる第1の周領域及び第2の周領域を含む断面を有し、
前記管は、両側縁部が前記中央区域上で結合される変形可能なウェブで形成され、
前記中央区域は、両端面を有し、
前記端部分は、前記両端面につながっているドアビーム。 - 前記結合される側縁部は、溶接される請求項9に記載のドアビーム。
- 前記変形可能なウェブは、細長いベース及び細長いストリップを含み、
該ストリップは、前記ベースより狭く、
前記ベース及び前記ストリップは、結合して前記第2厚さを形成し、
前記ベースは、前記第1厚さを形成する請求項11に記載のドアビーム。 - ドアビームを形成する方法であって、
横方向に異なった厚さの領域を含む連続変形可能ウェブを前進させるステップと、
該ウェブを管に成形するステップと、
を含むドアビームを形成する方法。 - 前記連続変形可能ウェブの縁部を結合させるステップを含む請求項12に記載のドアビームを形成する方法。
- 前記結合させるステップは、両側縁部を溶接で接合することを含む請求項13に記載のドアビームを形成する方法。
- 管状物体を形成する方法であって、
側縁部、及び該側縁部間の異なった厚さの領域を含む変形可能なウェブを前進させるステップと、
該ウェブをほぼ管状の形状に成形するステップと
を含む管状物体を形成する方法。 - 前記管を所定長さに切断するステップを含む請求項15に記載の管状物体を形成する方法。
- ほぼ管状の形状を形成する前記ステップは、前記側縁部を結合させるステップを含む請求項15に記載の管状物体を形成する方法。
- 管状物体を形成する方法であって、
両側縁部、及び該側縁部間の異なった厚さの領域を含む変形可能なウェブを前進させるステップと、
前記変形可能なウェブからブランクを切断するステップと、
該ブランクをほぼ管状の形状に成形するステップと
を含む管状物体を形成する方法。 - 前記管状の形状から端ブラケットを形成するステップを含み、
前記端ブラケットは、中央区域によって相互接続されており、
前記端ブラケット及び前記中央区域は、異なった厚さを有する請求項18に記載の管状物体を形成する方法。
