Abstract

Claims (10)
- 内燃エンジンの燃焼シリンダ内の温度を制御する方法であって、シリンダは吸気マニフォールドおよび排気マニフォールドに流体接続されている方法において、
排気マニフォールドに関連する背圧をシリンダ内において所望量の残留排気ガスを保持するのに十分なレベルに増加させる工程と、
吸気マニフォールドとシリンダとの間に配置された吸気弁の作動を吸気マニフォールドからシリンダへの所望量の外気を保持するのに十分な開持続時間に変化させる工程と
を含み、残留排気ガスおよび外気の量の制御はシリンダ内の温度を所望レベルに保持するようになされる方法。 - 残留排気ガスおよび外気の量の制御はシリンダ内の温度を所望レベルに上昇させるようになされる請求項1に記載の方法。
- 残留排気ガスおよび外気の量の制御はエンジンの低負荷運転中になされる請求項2に記載の方法。
- 吸気弁の作動を変化させる工程は吸気弁の開持続時間を正常な開持続時間よりも延長する工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 吸気弁の開持続時間を延長する工程は吸気弁の開持続時間を外気の量を所望のレベル未満に保持するのに十分な期間にわたって延長させる工程を含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 背圧を増加させる工程は吸気マニフォールドおよび排気マニフォールドに関連するターボ過給機システム内の少なくとも1つの可変容量タービンを制御可能に作動させる工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 内燃エンジンの燃焼シリンダ内の温度を制御する装置において、
シリンダに流体接続される吸気マニフォールドと、
吸気マニフォールドとシリンダとの間に配置される吸気弁と、
シリンダに流体接続される排気マニフォールドと、
吸気マニフォールドと排気マニフォールドとの間に配置されるターボ過給機システムと、
吸気弁に制御可能に接続される可変吸気弁システムと、
ターボ過給機システムおよび可変吸気弁システムに電気的に接続され、排気マニフォールドに関連する背圧を増加させるようにターボ過給機システムを制御し、吸気弁の開持続時間を変化させるように可変吸気弁システムを制御する制御装置であって、背圧と吸気弁の開持続時間は、それぞれ、シリンダ内において所望の増加量の残留排気ガスと所望の減少量の外気を保持するように制御され、シリンダ内の温度が所望レベルに保持される制御装置と、
を備える装置。 - ターボ過給機システムは少なくとも1つの可変容量ターボ過給機(VGT)を備える請求項7に記載の装置。
- 対応する少なくとも1つのVGTに接続されると共に制御装置に電気的に接続される少なくとも1つのVGT翼アクチュエータをさらに備える請求項8に記載の装置。
- 可変吸気弁システムは吸気弁の開持続時間を正常な開持続時間よりも延長するように構成される請求項7に記載の装置。
