Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明の電池用セパレータは、よこ方向の引張り強さ(CD)に対する、たて方向の引張り強さ(MD)の比率(MD/CD)が1〜1.8の湿式不織布からなる。好ましくは、湿式不織布構成繊維として、繊維径が4μm以下の極細繊維及び/又は引張り強さが4.5cN/dteX以上の高強度繊維を含んでいる。本発明の電池は上記電池用セパレータを備えている。

空隙率(P)={1−W/(T×d)}×100
ここで、Wはセパレータの目付(g/m2)、Tはセパレータの厚さ(μm)、dはセパレータを構成する樹脂(例えば、繊維)の密度(g/cm3)をそれぞれ意味する。なお、セパレータを構成する樹脂が2種類以上の樹脂からなる場合には、構成樹脂の密度は各構成樹脂の質量平均値をいう。例えば、密度d1の樹脂Aがa(mass%)と、密度d2の樹脂Bがb(mass%)存在している場合、構成樹脂の密度(d)は次の式により算出する。
密度(d)=d1×a/100+d2×b/100
ホモポリプロピレン(Q値:3.2、MI:14g/10分、融点:168℃)を芯成分とし、高密度ポリエチレン(Q値:6.7、MI:20g/10分、融点:135℃)を鞘成分とする、引張り強さが6.5cN/dtexの複合高強度ポリプロピレン系繊維(両端部を除いて高密度ポリエチレンが繊維表面を被覆、芯成分と鞘成分の体積比率=50:50、ヤング率:45cN/dtex、熱収縮率:7%、繊度:0.6dtex、繊維径:9.0μm、切断繊維長:5mm)を用意した。

比率(MD/CD):1.33
空隙率:55%
よこ方向の吸液高さ:130mm/30min.
比率(Vs/Vn)を0.9として繊維ウエブを形成したこと以外は、実施例1と全く同様にして、目付が35g/m2で、厚さが0.085mmの一層構造のセパレータを製造した。このセパレータの物性は次の通りであった。
よこ方向の引張り強さ(CD):52N/5cm幅
比率(MD/CD):1.69
空隙率:55%
よこ方向の吸液高さ:125mm/30min.
比率(Vs/Vn)を1.2として繊維ウエブを形成したこと以外は、実施例1と全く同様にして、目付が35g/m2で、厚さが0.085mmの一層構造のセパレータを製造した。このセパレータの物性は次の通りであった。
よこ方向の引張り強さ(CD):45N/5cm幅
比率(MD/CD):2.11
空隙率:55%
よこ方向の吸液高さ:95mm/30min.
Claims (8)
- よこ方向の引張り強さ(CD)に対する、たて方向の引張り強さ(MD)の比率(MD/CD)が1〜1.8の湿式不織布からなる電池用セパレータ。
- 湿式不織布構成繊維として、繊維径が4μm以下の極細繊維を含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 極細繊維を30mass%以上含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項2記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 湿式不織布構成繊維として、引張り強さが4.5cN/dteX以上の高強度繊維を含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項1〜請求項3のいずれかに記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 高強度繊維の繊度が0.8dtex以下であることを特徴とする、請求項4記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 高強度繊維が繊維表面に融着成分を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項4又は請求項5記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 目付が40g/m2以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜請求項6のいずれかに記載の電池用セパレータ。
- 請求項1〜請求項7のいずれかに記載の電池用セパレータを備えた電池。
