Abstract
【解決手段】電気泳動ディスプレイ10は、表示領域及び非表示領域を有するセル24を含む。セル24は、懸濁流体16と、この懸濁流体16内に分散した第1の粒子12及び第2の粒子14とを含む。電源62による第1の電界の印加により、第1の粒子12及び第2の粒子14を振動させ、互いに、セル24の壁から、表示領域27及び非表示領域25から分離する。電源62による第2の電界を1方向に印加することにより、第1の粒子12を表示領域27に移動させ、第2の粒子14を非表示領域25に移動させ、色状態を生じさせる。

Claims (8)
- 電気泳動ディスプレイであって、
表示領域と非表示領域とを有するセルと、
懸濁流体と、
第1の電荷を有する複数の第1粒子と、
第2の電荷を有する複数の第2粒子と、
を含み、
前記第1粒子と前記第2粒子は前記懸濁流体内に分散し、
前記第1粒子は第1の色を有し、前記第2粒子は第2の色を有し、
第1の電界の印加により、前記第1粒子及び前記第2粒子が振動して互いに分離し、前記セルの表面から引き離され、
第1の極性を有する第2の電界の印加により、前記第1粒子を前記表示領域に向かって移動させ、前記第2粒子を前記非表示領域に向かって移動させることにより、第1の色状態が生じる、
電気泳動ディスプレイ。 - 請求項1に記載のディスプレイにおいて、第2の極性を有する前記第2の電界の印加により、前記第1粒子を前記非表示領域に向かって移動させ、前記第2粒子を前記表示領域に向かって移動させることにより、第2の色状態が生じる、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記第1の電界はAC電界である、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項3に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記第2の電界はDC電界である、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項4に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記第2電界は前記第1電界の振幅より小さい、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項4に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記第2電界は前記第1電界の振幅より大きい、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項4に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記第2電界は前記第1電界の振幅に等しい、ディスプレイ。
- 請求項4に記載のディスプレイにおいて、前記DC電界を生成する電圧は、第1のより低い電圧から第2のより高い電圧に変化する、ディスプレイ。
