Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 正孔注入電極と電子注入電極との間に配置されたエレクトロルミネセント 層を有し、前記エレクトロルミネセント層が可溶性ポリ(1,4−フェニレン ビニレン)を含むエレクトロルミネセント装置において、前記ポリ(1,4 −フェニレンビニレン)の少なくとも1つの1,4−フェニレン単位がアリ ール−1,4−フェニレン単位であり、ここで、アリール基は、コポリマー であるポリ(2(3−メトキシフェニル)−1,4−フェニレンビニレン− co−2−メトキシ−5−(2−トリメチルアンモニウムヨージド)−エト キシ)−1,4−フェニレンビニレン)を除いて、置換されていても置換さ れていなくてもよいフェニル基、ナフチル基、またはビフェニリル基を表す ことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネセント装置。 2. アリール−1,4−フェニレン単位が、式(C1)または(C2) (式中で、 Rは独立して、それが生じる毎に選択され、C1〜C20アルキル基または C1〜C20アルコキシ基を表し、 R1は水素原子またはC1〜C20アルコキシ基を表し、 pおよびqは0,1,2,3,4または5であり、 C1〜C20アルキル基またはC1〜C20アルコキシ基の1つまたは2つ以上の 隣接しない−CH2−単位を、−O−,−S−,N(R2)−(ここでR2は フェニル基またはC1〜C20アルキル基、フェニレン基および/または−C OO−である)により置換することができる)で表される単位であるこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項記載のエレクトロルミネセント装置。 3. ポリ(1,4−フェニレンビニレン)が実質的にアリール−1,4−フェ ニレンビニレンおよび2,5−ジアルコキシ−1,4−フェニレンビニレン くり返し単位から成ることを特徴とする、請求の範囲第2項記載のエレクト ロルミネセント装置。 4. アリール−1,4−フェニレン単位が、0.95以上1.0以下の割合で 存在することを特徴とする、請求の範囲第1項,第2項または第3項記載の エレクトロルミネセント装置。 5. 可溶性ポリ(1,4−フェニレンビニレン)において、少なくとも1つの 1,4−フェニレン単位がアリール−1,4−フェニレン単位であり、ここ でアリール基は、コポリマーであるポリ((3−メトキシフェニル)−1, 4−フェニレンビニレン−co−2−メトキシ−5−(2−(トリメチルア ンモニウムヨージド)−エトキシ−1,4−フェニレンビニレンを除いて、 置換されていてもいなくてもよいフェニル基、ナフチル基またはビフェニリ ル基を表すことを特徴とする、可溶性ポリ(1,4−フェニレンビニレン) 。 6. 請求の範囲第5項記載のポリ(1,4−フェニレンビニレン)を調製する のに適する中間化合物において、前記中間化合物がアリール−1,4−ビス (ハロメチル)ベンゼンであり、ここでアリール基が,2−フェニル−1, 4−ビス(ブロモメチル)ベンゼンおよび2−(3−メトキシフェニル)− 1,4−ビス(クロロメチル)ベンゼンを除いて、置換されていてもいなく てもよいフェニル基、ナフチル基またはビフェニリル基を表すことを特徴と する、中間化合物。
