Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.RFエネルギーを処置部位に送達するための少なくとも1つの遠位電極と 、RF電源への接続用の近位コネクタとを有するタイプの改良されたRFプロー ブアセンブリであって、 該コネクタが該電源に接続されると該電源内の制御回路を完成させるように仕 向けられる受動電気素子であって、該制御回路は該処置領域に送達されるRFエ ネルギー量を制御する、受動電気素子を含む、プローブアセンブリ。 2.前記制御回路は、前記処置部位に送達されるRFエネルギーの持続期間を 制御するタイマーを備えている、請求項1に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 3.前記制御回路は、前記電極に供給されるRF電力のレベルを制御する電力 レベル調節器を備えている、請求項1に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 4.前記受動電気素子は前記コネクタ内の抵抗器を含む、請求項1に記載のプ ローブアセンブリ。 5.前記コネクタから延びる少なくとも第1ピンおよび第2ピンをさらに備え 、前記受動素子は該ピンの間を延び、該ピンは前記電源に挿入されるようにされ 、該ピンが該電源内に挿入されると該制御回路が完成される、請求項1に記載の プローブアセンブリ。 6.前記コネクタ内の前記受動素子は少なくとも部分的にはRFシールドによ って囲まれる、請求項1に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 7.前記コネクタは第3ピンを含み、該第3ピンと前記第1または第2ピンの いずれかとの間に少なくとも第2受動素子が延び、該第2受動素子は、前記第1 受動素子の抵抗とは異なる抵抗を有し、これにより、該コネクタは、該第1また は第2受動素子のいずれかを前記制御回路内に配置するように前記電源に接続さ れるように適合している、請求項5に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 8.前記コネクタは幾何学的に三角形の形状であり、前記ピンは該三角形の頂 点近くに配置される、請求項7に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 9.前記コネクタは単一のRF電力リードを含む、請求項1に記載のプローブ アセンブリ。 10.少なくとも2つの遠位電極をさらに備え、前記コネクタは一対のRF電 力リードを含む、請求項1に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 11.前記コネクタが前記電源に接続されると前記電極に供給されるRFエネ ルギーの持続時間を示す該コネクタ上の視覚性ラベルをさらに備えた、請求項2 に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 12.近位端と遠位端とを有するプローブ本体であって、前記電極は該遠位端 に位置するプローブ本体と、前記コネクタを該プローブ本体の該近位端に接続す るケーブルとをさらに備え、前記受動素子は該コネクタ内に配置される、請求項 1に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 13.前記ケーブルは、前記コネクタと前記プローブ本体の前記近位端との両 方に固定して取り付けられる、請求項12に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 14.前記ケーブルは、前記プローブ本体の前記近位端に取り外し可能に取り 付けられる、請求項12に記載のプローブアセンブリ。 15.前記プローブ本体は使い捨て可能である、請求項12に記載のプローブ アセンブリ。 16.RF電源と、 少なくとも1つの遠位電極と近位電源コネクタとを有するRF治療プローブア センブリと、 該電極に供給されるRFエネルギーの持続時間を制御するタイミング回路であ って、該コネクタを該電源に接続すると形成されるタイミング回路と、 を備えた放射線治療システム。 17.前記タイミング回路は、前記電源内の電気構成要素と前記コネクタ内の 少なくとも第1ピンおよび第2ピンとを備え、該2つのピンの間にコンデンサが 延び、そして該2つのピンを該電源に挿入すると、該抵抗器が該電気構成要素と 電気接続する状態に置かれて該タイミング回路を完成させる、請求項16に記載 のシステム。 18.前記タイミング回路は、前記電源内の電気構成要素と前記コネクタ内の 少なくとも第1ピンおよび第2ピンとを備え、該2つのピンの間に抵抗器が延び 、そして該2つのピンを該電源に挿入すると、該抵抗器が該電気構成要素と電気 接続する状態に置かれて該タイミング回路を完成させる、請求項16に記載のシ ステム。 19.前記電気構成要素の少なくとも1つは、コンデンサと並列の集積回路タ イマーを含む、請求項18に記載のシステム。 20.前記プローブを前記電源に接続した後、前記タイミング回路を手動で閉 じるスイッチをさらに備えた、請求項18に記載のシステム。 21.前記コネクタは第3ピンを含み、該第3ピンと前記第1または第2ピン のいずれかとの間を少なくとも第2抵抗器が延び、該第2抵抗器は前記第1抵抗 器の抵抗とは異なる抵抗を有し、これにより、前記コネクタは、該第1または第 2抵抗器のいずれかを前記タイミング回路内に配置するように前記電源に接続さ れ得る、請求項16に記載のシステム。 22.前記コネクタは幾何学的に三角形の形状であり、前記ピンは該三角形の 頂点近くに配置される、請求項21に記載のシステム。 23.前記コネクタは単一のRF電力ピンを含む、請求項16に記載のシステ ム。 24.前記プローブは少なくとも2つの電極を含み、前記コネクタは一対のR F電力ピンを含む、請求項16に記載のシステム。 25.前記プローブは、前記プローブが前記電源に接続されると前記電極に供 給されるRFエネルギーの持続時間を示す視覚性ラベルを含む、請求項16に記 載のシステム。 26.前記視覚性ラベルは前記コネクタ上に位置する、請求項25に記載のシ ステム。 27.前記電極に供給されるRFエネルギー量を調整する前記電源上の手段を さらに備えた、請求項16に記載のシステム。 28.前記電極に送達されるRF電力量を制御する電力レベル制御回路であっ て、前記コネクタを前記電源に接続すると形成される電力レベル制御回路をさら に備えた、請求項18に記載のシステム。 29.前記電力レベル制御回路は、前記コネクタが前記電源に接続されると該 電源内のRF増幅器のゲインを制御する前記電源コネクタ内の受動電気素子を備 えている、請求項28に記載のシステム。 30.前記ピンは少なくとも部分的にRFシールドによって囲まれる、請求項 18に記載のシステム。 31.近位端と遠位端とを有するプローブ本体であって、前記電極は該遠位端 に位置するプローブ本体と、前記近位コネクタを該プローブ本体の該近位端に接 続するケーブルとをさらに備え、前記受動電気素子は該コネクタ内に配置される 、請求項29に記載のシステム。 32.前記ケーブルは、前記コネクタと前記プローブ本体の前記近位端との両 方に固定して取り付けられる、請求項31に記載のシステム。 33.前記ケーブルは、前記プローブ本体の前記近位端に取り外し可能に取り 付けられる、請求項31に記載のシステム。 34.前記プローブ本体は使い捨て可能である、請求項31に記載のシステム 。 35.処置領域をRF電流により処置する方法であって、 少なくとも1つの遠位電極と近位電源コネクタとを有するプローブアセンブリ を提供するステップと、 該プローブをRF電源に取り付けるステップと、 該電極を該処置領域に導入するステップと、 該電極からのRF電流フローを確立するステップと、 該治療領域に送達されるRFエネルギー量を該コネクタ内の少なくとも1つの 受動電気要素により制御するステップと、 を包含する方法。 36.前記制御するステップは、RF電流フローの持続時間を制御するために 、前記プローブアセンブリを前記RF電源に取り付けるとタイミング回路を形成 す るステップを包含する、請求項35に記載の方法。 37.前記タイミング回路は、前記プローブアセンブリを前記電源に接続する 抵抗器をコンデンサと並列に配置することによって形成されるRC回路を備えて いる、請求項36に記載の方法。 38.前記コンデンサにおける電圧降下を検出し、該検出された電圧が所定量 より小さいときRF電流の前記電極への供給を停止するステップをさらに包含す る、請求項37に記載の方法。 39.前記コンデンサは前記コネクタ内に位置する、請求項37に記載の方法 。 40.前記抵抗器は前記コネクタ内に位置する、請求項37に記載の方法。 41.前記プローブアセンブリは、前記遠位端に少なくとも2つの電極を含み 、前記確立するステップは、該少なくとも2つの電極の間に電流フローを確立す るステップをさらに包含する、請求項35に記載の方法。 42.前記確立するステップは、前記電極と共通電極との間に電流フローを確 立するステップをさらに包含する、請求項35に記載の方法。 43.前記取り付けるステップは、前記コネクタを前記電源に挿入するステッ プを包含し、該コネクタの該電源への接続が前記制御回路を完成させる、請求項 35に記載の方法。 44.前記制御回路は、RF電流フローの持続時間を制御するタイミング回路 を備えている、請求項43に記載の方法。 45.前記制御回路は、前記電極に送達されるRF電力のレベルを制御する電 力レベル制御回路を備えている、請求項43に記載の方法。 46.前記電力レベル制御回路は電力増幅器を含む、請求項45に記載の方法 。 47.前記制御回路は、前記電極へのRF電流フローの持続時間および該電極 に送達されるRF電力のレベルの両方を制御する、請求項43に記載の方法。
