Abstract

Un procedimento per preparare un materiale composito consiste nel trascinare particelle di additivo solide finemente suddivise in una corrente di gas inerte ionizzato e ionizzare il gas inerte e utilizzare calore generato dal gas ionizzato per riscaldare le particelle solide ad un'alta temperatura che è inferiore alla temperatura alla quale le particelle solide divengono non-solide a causa di sublimazione da fusione o dissociazione. Quindi, iniettando la corrente di gas e particelle solide riscaldate e trascinate in una massa di metallo fuso per fornire una miscela di particelle solide finemente suddivise e metallo fuso e successivamente provocando agitazione fisica della miscela di metallo fuso e particelle solide per stabilire una distribuzione sostanzialmente uniforme di particelle solide nel metallo fuso. Tale agitazione fisica del metallo fuso viene continuata finché la miscela di particelle finemente suddivise e di metalli non è completamente solidificata.
