Abstract

1396074 Multiple effect apparatus SNAMPROGETTI SPA 21 June 1973 [7 July 1972] 29629/73 Heading B1B In multiple effect apparatus, brine preheated in heat exchangers 3 is introduced at 2 into tanks 4 and flows as a thin film down evaporator tubes 8 into the tanks of the next lower stage/effect, steam being introduced at 5. Water vapour thus formed passes through demister 7 and condenses in the outside of tubes 8 of this lower stage. The brine thus progresses down through each stage/effect and leaves at 10. Condensate from each stage/ effect passes downwards via syphons 9 and uncondensible gases by valves 12. [GB1396074A]
