Abstract

PURPOSE:To enalbe the title apparatus suitable for desalination of seawater, etc. to perform efficient evaporation by arranging a plurality of series each consisting of an effect and a flash evaporator; introducing brine preheated in each series into other series; and letting the brine flow down every series. CONSTITUTION:Seawater from piping 1 is passed through final condenser 2 to condense steam generated from final effect 8, and the seawater is drained. On the other hand, supplied seawater is passed through pipe 16, introduced into preheater 10 in flash evaporator 18 of the final evaporation unit, heated, and fed to degassing chamber 22. The seawater degassed in chamber 22 is supplied with pump 25 to feed water preheater 10 of the same series above effect 8, heated with steam generated in evaporator 18, and introduced into uppermost feed water preheater 10. After heat recovery the supplied seawater is introduced onto liquid distribution plate 11 of first effect 3 belonging to the first evaporation series and sprinkled upon horizontal heat transfer tubes 12 of effect 1. Steam is supplied to the inside of each tube 12 from steam pipe 13 to evaporate the seawater on the outside of each tube 12.
