Abstract
1393301 Tubular casings UNION CARBIDE CORP 9 June 1972 [10 June 1971] 26961/72 Heading A2B A tubular cellulosic casing for encasing and processing food products, such as frankfurters, from which the skin has to be readily peeled, is internally coated with a homogeneous mixture of at least two components, one being a water-soluble cellulose ether in amount of at least 0.001 mg/in<SP>2</SP> of interior surface, and the other being selected from animal, vegetable, mineral or silicone oils and water-soluble alkylene oxide adducts of fatty acid partial esters, in amount of between 0.1 and 15 times the weight of the ether, and not more than 0.5 mg/in<SP>2</SP> of interior surface. A polyol of 3-6 carbon atoms may also be present.
