1384878 Explosive compositions EXCHEM HOLDINGS Ltd 27 April 1972 [28 April 1971] 12001/71 Heading C1D An explosive concentrate having a soft rubbery consistency comprises between 60 and 90% by weight of nitroglycerine, nitroglycol, or a mixture thereof, from 1-5% of a gelatinizer containing at least 31% by weight of moisture and free of a wetting agent, and at least 5% of an undried absorbent. The gelatinizer may be nitrocellulose in the form of a floss, and the absorbent fluffy white woodmeal and/or balsa dust. The concentrate may be softened with liquid dinitrotoluene or a mixture of mononitrotoluene and dinitrotoluene and then mixed with ammonium nitrate and wheat flour to form a gelatinous explosive composition, or with prilled and crystalline ammonium nitrate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, aluminium powder, and calcium stearate to form a powdery explosive composition.
