700,028. Gelatine and semi-gelatine blasting explosives. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 18, 1952 [July 3, 1951], No. 15736/51. Class 9(2) A gelatine or semi-gelatine blasting explosive containing, say, at least 50 per cent ammonium nitrate includes not more than 5 parts of calcium sulphate (anhydrite) per 100 parts of explosive composition. The composition may also incldue 0.5-5 parts of urea per 100 parts of composition. Preferably 100 parts of composition contain 4 parts of calcium sluphate in the absence of urea or 2 parts of calcium sulphate and 2 parts of urea. Other ingredients are 80/20 nitroglycerine/ethylene glycol dinitrate, nitrocellulose, orthonitrotoluol, woodmeal, chalk and aluminium.
