Abstract

A normally crystalline high explosive is converted to a finely-divided particulate form by contacting immediately after formation, a turbulent mixture of a solution of the explosive in an inert solvent (8 p.b.w.) and of an inert miscible non-solvent (3-7 p.b.w.), with additional non-solvent such that the total non-solvent is at least 2.2 x the solvent.
