710,761. Gelatin dynamites. NIHON YUSHI KABUSHIKI KAISHA. May 18, 1951 [May 25, 1950; July 20, 1950; Sept. 15, 1950], No. 11709/51. Class 9(2) In a gelatin dynamite part of the gel consisting of nitrocellulose dissolved in nitroglycerine is replaced by konjac mannan gel obtained by adding 10 times the weight of water to the powdered mannan contained in the tuber of konjac (amorphophalas konjac k. koch.). The proportion of konjac mannan gel may be 2-4 per cent as compared with 14-22 per cent nitroglycerine-nitrocellulose gel, when employed principally as plasticizer, and 8-10 per cent compared with 20-25 per cent nitroglycerine-nitrocellulose gel, when employed as plasticizer and desensitizer. Other ingredients referred to are hexogen, ammonium nitrate, saltpetre, starch, wood meal, and naphthalene.
