870,203. Surface treating propellent powders. WHITWORTH E., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 26, 1950 [Oct. 26, 1949], No. 27498/49.. Class 9(2). The surface of a smokeless propellant powder containing nitrocellulose colloided with a liquid explosive ester e.g. nitroglycerine or diethylene glycol dinitrate, and nitroguanidine is treated with symmetrical diethyl diphenyl urea. The diethyl diphenyl urea may be applied in the undiluted form, as a solution or an emulsion. Dimethyl or diethyl-diphenyl urea may be homogeneously distributed in the powder to be treated. Specification 621,699 is referred to.
