Abstract

1,269,271. Container closures; delivering measured quantities of liquids. AUTIC DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 19 May, 1970 [31 May, 1969], No. 27680/69. Heading B8N and B8T. An adapter means for connecting a bottle 5 to a measure (8), Fig. 3 (not shown), has a body portion 2 with an annular part 21 having a throughbore and a resilient seal 3 for engagement within the bottle mouth, and a toggle 26 for engagement with the internal bottle shoulder, tensioning means comprising a rod 23 passing through the annular part 21 and having a screw threaded shank, being provided to clamp the toggle, the rod having an enlarged head 24. A boss 18, which is held by vanes 19 in a flow passage 11, locates the rod 23 on which is threaded the toggle 26. The head 24 of rod 23 may be rotated by a key or spanner, to clamp the toggle. The body 2 is secured to a ring 6 which provides a bayonet-type attachment to a socket (7) of the measure (8). An apertured slide 9 between the cap and ring can only be opened when the bottle and adapter are attached to the measure, an annular flange (14) in the latter raising slide locking pins, (not shown), in the body. The toggle is pivotable and weighted at 27 so that it will align with the rod 23 for passage through the bottle neck. [GB1269271A]
