Abstract

Πλοίο διαμορφωμένο να λαμβάνει δύναμη πρόωσης κινώντας μια κύρια προπέλα με τη βοήθεια κύριας μηχανής, διαθέτει πρόσθετη προπέλα και μονάδα κίνησης αυτής. Η πρόσθετη προπέλα τοποθετείται στον πυθμένα του πλοίου ή σε ανυψωμένο τμήμα του πυθμένα του πλοίου και σε θέση διαφορετική από αυτήν της κύριας προπέλας. Περαιτέρω, το παραγόμενο έργο της μονάδας κίνησης της πρόσθετης προπέλας είναι 25 τοις εκατό ή λιγότερο του παραγόμενου έργου της μονάδας κίνησης της κύριας μηχανής, και η λειτουργική κατάσταση μπορεί να επιλέγεται μεταξύ κανονικής λειτουργικής κατάστασης στην οποία η προωστική δύναμη λαμβάνεται με κίνηση της κύριας προπέλας και της άλλης λειτουργικής κατάστασης στην οποία η προωστική δύναμη λαμβάνεται με κίνηση της πρόσθετης προπέλας.
