Abstract

997,081. Reinforced containers. BARNEBEY-CHENEY CO. April 7, 1964, No. 14243/64. Heading B8P. A corrugated paperboard container and liner has a continuous sidewall shell 10 with separate top and bottom closures 11, 12 secured by an arrangement including baling bands 13 and has a liner shell 15 which includes an inwardly projecting reinforcing transverse rib 16, the inner shell being formed from a single blank, Fig. 3. The ends of the blank are connected together by an overlapping flap 18 on the panel 15d which is attached by glue or staples to the outer edge of the panel 15a. Openings 21 in the rib portions provide mitre joints at the comers of the shell so that the liner lies flat against the inside wall of the shell.
