Abstract

995,614. Centrifugal distribution. ATKINSONS OF CLITHEROE Ltd. March 21, 1962 [April 7, 1961], No. 12499/61. Heading A1D. A distributer for use in spreading discrete materials over the land comprises a spreader disc 16 mounted below a unit comprising two tubes 11, 12 each having three equi-spaced ports 20, 20a respectively the tubes being relatively adjustable to vary the effective opening formed by the ports 20, 20a, a pivoted flap 21, 21a being provided at each side of the disc, the flaps being adjusted by means of hydraulic rams 27 which control levers 28 connected to the flaps by links 23. A hood 15 is attached to the outer tube 12 and the inner tube 11 is extended to form a funnelshaped top 13 which receives the material from a vibratory feed trough 10. The distributer is attached to a truck body and the body is formed with an endless conveyer belt or a hydraulically operated pusher to move material forwardly to the trough 10.
