Abstract

650,390. Vehicle fittings for loading and unloading; endless-belt and screw conveyers. WALTERS, K. M. April 23, 1948, No. 11171. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv)] Distributing equipment for fertilizers and other material, of the type embodying a distributer and a conveyer for carrying the material from a hopper or the like to the distributer when the latter is towed by the vehicle, is characterized in that both the conveyer and the distributer are articulately connected to the rear of the vehicle to permit their movement independently of the vehicle. As shown, a bracket 4 universally mounted at 6 on the body of a lorry 1 carries the idling pulley 5 of a belt conveyer 10 the driving pulley 9 of which is mounted on a distributer 8 for spreading fertilizer or other material. The distributer 8 is drawn by a draw-bar 7 universally or otherwise suitably connected at 19 to the lorry to permit relative movement between the lorry 1 and the distributer. The pulley 9 is driven by a belt or chain 12 passing round pulley or sprocket wheels 11, 13, the latter wheel being driven by the wheel 14 of the distributer 8. The lorry is provided with a conveyer 2. The conveyer 10 may be replaced by a screw or drag scraper conveyer.
