Abstract

687,890. Manure distributers. LUTON MOTOR CO. (DUNSTABLE), Ltd. Nov. 30, 1951 [Dec. 6, 1950], No. 29874/50. Class 6(i) A manure distributer comprises a truck-body with floor 4 and sides 5 and an endless slatconveyer 3 beneath the centre of the floor, the two parts -of the floor being pivoted to the 'chassis adjacent to the edges of the conveyer so as to be tiltable inwardly to feed material on to the conveyer. The apparatus is formed as a trailer with a drawbar 2 and rear wheels 1 and a compartment 8 with sloping sides extends beyond the body proper and has an aperture 14 closable by an adjustable gate, Fig. 2, (not shown), through which the material falls on to spreading. discs 12. The front of the body is open and may be supported on a jack so that a lorry may be run up ramps (not shown) to empty its loads into the body. Ridge-shaped members 11 are mounted above the conveyer to support the load and these may carry bars to prevent oversize lumps of material passing to the conveyer. The floor is tilted by hydraulic jacks 15. The discs 12 may be driven by the wheels 1 or by the towing tractor.
