Abstract

Grain (15) in bulk is carried in a tank (1) of a trailer vehicle which is towed behind a tractor. The grain is fed to a hopper (2) at the rear by a belt conveyor (10). An auger (21) is mounted transversely in the hopper. The auger displaces the grain from the sides to the centre where it discharges to two laterally spaced spinning discs (30). A deflector plate (23) divides the grain so that equal amounts fall to each disc. Flow through the hopper opening is controlled by a plate (24) and a jack (25). The conveyor, auger and discs are driven from the tractor power take-off. A screw jack (39) controls the inclination of the discs whereby the spread can be varied. The discs rotate in opposite directions.
