678,853. Vehicle fittings for loading and unloading. LUTON MOTOR CO., (DUNSTABLE), Ltd. May 9, 1951.. [May 10, 1950] No. 11648/50. Class 78 (iv). [Also in Group I] An agricultural distributer comprises a two-wheeled trailer 1 with a tipping body 4 which is raisable by hydraulic jacks 8 to feed the material through a shoot 10 to a rotatable disc 11. The disc is driven either from the trailer wheels 2 or from a power take-off on the tractor. The tractor supplies hydraulic power to the body-lifting jacks 8 and to further, retractable, jacks 3 supporting the front of the trailer. Tipping is effected by struts 5 carrying rollers 6 which run on rails 7 on the underside of the body 4. The body is openfronted and the chassis incorporates ramps 12 so that a truck carrying lime or fertiliser may be backed up into the body to discharge its load. The tractor may be transported in the empty body. A platform (not shown) may be provided for an operator who adjusts the rate of discharge of the material through a shutter in the shoot 10.
