Abstract

872,604. Powder distributers. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Nov. 6, 1957 [Nov. 9, 1956], No. 34643/57. Class 6(1). A device for spreading powdered material over land comprises two channel shaped ejectors 7, which oscillate about shafts 4 and are coupled by links so that they move in opposite directions. Springs 17 are provided so that the speed of each ejector is at a maximum near the end of the forward stroke and/or the end of the return stroke. Material is fed to the ejectors from a hopper 53 provided with two separate funnels each with apertures 55A and over the apertures are arranged strips 56 which control the discharge of the material through the apertures 55A. Each ejector is provided at each end with a distribution opening 9, 13 which is larger than the adjacent part of the ejector. The side wall of each ejector is provided with distribution openings 11, 12. The heights of these openings above the bottom of the ejector are different and the heights decrease towards the end of the ejector.
