Abstract

1,062,181. Powder distributers. GLOSTER SARO Ltd. Feb. 26, 1963 [Nov. 30, 1961], No. 42951/61. Heading A1D. [Also in Division B8] A distributing machine for powdered or granular artificial fertilizers or insecticides comprises diaphragm pumps 24, 25 which on the suction stroke draw a mixture of powder and air from a funnel 7 into chambers 20, 21 past valves 18, 19. On the expansion of the pumps the valves 18, 19 close, and material is blown past valves 13, through flexible tubes 16, 17 and discharged material is fed from a hopper 1 to the funnel 7 by means described in Specification 872,565. The diaphragm pump may comprise a bellows divided into two chambers by a movable central wall. The valves may comprise apertured rotary discs arranged to be reciprocable in synchronism with the pump.
