A seal for the glass window of a gas fire comprises a strip of resilient heat resistant material held between the window and the body of the fire by an S-section beading engaging an edge in the body of the fire and the strip. A door 5 having a window formed of glass rods 4 is hinged to the front of a radiant gas fire, and the door 5 is sealed to the door frame by a heatresistant sealing strip c secured to an edge on the frame by an S-section beading 10, Fig. 3. The seal c comprises an asbestos tube 8 with a glass fibre filling 9. One re-entrant of the beading 10 retains the tube 8, while the other re-entrant engages the edge of the frame.
