Abstract

1341723 Oven door windows MILLS PRODUCTS Inc 19 Jan 1971 [25 Feb 1970] 2490/71 Heading A4D An oven-door window unit comprises two parallel spaced glass panels, 10, 12, a continuous spacing and clamping member 14 having a U-sectioned spacer portion with substantially flat opposed walls 16 of the U sealing against marginal portions of the inner surfaces of panels 10, 12 walls 16 being integral with flanges 20 having portions 34 bent over to hold tin strips 26, (28), Figs. 2, 3 (not shown) against the outer surfaces of panels 10, 12 respectively and holding the panels against the walls 16. When mounted in an oven door comprising front and back panels each having an opening therein and an inwardly extending flange around the opening, said latter flanges engage in spaces between parts of strips 26, 26 and parts of flange 20. The tin strip (28) on the inner panel 12 carries a resilient sealing member (30) of, for example, asbestos cord which is engaged by the portions 34 on the inner wall 16 and by the flange on the inner door panel. Brackets 44 welded to flanges 20 are used to secure the window unit in the door.
