Abstract

1509560 Glazing SAINT-GOBAIN INDUSTRIES 29 Dec 1975 [18 June 1975] 52984/75 Addition to 1470996 Heading EIR A panel comprises a sheet of glass 1 mounted on a peripheral member 2 and supported by an apertured member 3 contacting the sheet at a region spaced from its edge, the edge of the sheet being insulated by material 11. A strip 13 of glass having a lower softening temperature than the sheet is provided. Member 4 is not apertured and receives insulation 10. Alternatively both strips are apertured and may be laminates of metal which bend into the sheet on heating (Fig. 3, not shown). A double glazed panel has a spacer 56 (Fig. 4, not shown) with apertured flanges.
